About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

Best Hair Salons in Mumbai

(Last updated: 25-Sep-2016)

Almost every day I fret over how to do my hair and more often than not, I end up tying it in a ponytail to keep it fuss free at the office. However when it comes to getting a haircut, I always look for the best.

We all know that how important a haircut is. Having my haircut done in some of the best salons in the world (Shunji Matsuo, Toni and Guy, Andrew Barton, etc) and after a lot of experimenting at myriad hair salons in Mumbai, here is a review of the best places in Mumbai to get a good haircut.

1. b:blunt
Mumbai's trendiest hair salon where you are sure to come across some or the other bollywood biggies. A chic salon, set up by Adhuna Akhtar, is one of the best places in town to get a great haircut. Transform dull hair into wow factor hair with the help of renowned hair stylists of b:blunt, stylist to actors such as Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan. Their friendly staff will suggest you the hair style best suited for your hair, but make sure you tell them if you have a specific need (like not going too short). And when you visit the salon, you might be getting your haircut next to a bollywwid biggy or a leggy model. They started their first salon at Peddar Road and now have branches across Mumbai including Juhu and Bandra.

Apart from their 'great haircuts', you can also indulge in one of the Kérastase hair treatments to relieve you from your stress and leave your locks visibly healthier, shinier and smooth. The range of hair extensions at b:Blunt is however limited so for hair extensions you could try some other hair salon.

Recommended Stylist: Avan Contractor, Osh (charges about Rs. 3,500) and Naz (charges about Rs 1,800).

Charges: From Rs 800-4000, for a hair wash, cut and blow dry, depending on the stylist you are choosing. They do hair straightening, manicures and whole lot of other treatments.

Note: review of hairstylist Kadamberi for men is  not good from the readers, so guys you may want to consider some other stylist.

022-65980301 (Peddar Road, South Mumbai)
b:blunt - Bandra

2. Jean Claude Biguine
What can be better than getting a haircut from a French stylist in India? The 5,000 square feet slick and sophisticated Jean Claude Biguine (pronounced 'begeen') salon in Bandra (and now in Juhu too) has French stylists, trained in Paris, to work on your hair. This cult brand has hundreds of salons worldwide and is the right place for a quick hair fix. They use Kerastase products (upon request) and offer a variety of services including special hair treatments and nail care. In fact if time is in your hands then you must get a French manicure from here and you sure will forget all the manicures you ever got done.

Don't forget to your stylist the different hair styles you can create and take tips on blow drying that will save you from the last moment panic.

The perfect treat to transfer bland hair into serious glam! Definitely recommended (even for men).

Charges: Rs. 699-1,850

Contact: 022-65222211 (Bandra, West, near Leelavati Hospital). They also have hair salons at Juhu (next door to b:Blunt) (022-66995555), at Palladium Mall and at Lokhandwala (022-65653300).

They also offer pedicure and manicures, among other services. Lean more.

3. Kromakay

Considering a colour update? Head to Kromakay (their Juhu salon near HSBC is the best of their 4 salons), one of the best places in town to colour your hair. Kromakay is a professional hair salon chain run by a famous hair stylist, Kanta Motwani, with 4 salons in Mumbai. The salon is a favourite with celebrities and chances are you're even going to be seated next to one of their A list celebrity clients (Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Sonali Bendre, Ameesha Patel are their regular clients) while getting your mane done.

If its the best haircut you're looking for? Book for the lady herself - Kanta Motwani. In addition to the great styling their staff is also very attentive, friendly and helpful making it a great experience. We'd recommend their Juhu salon.

Recommended Stylist: Zenobia Mody

Charges: Rs. 1,000-4,000 (by head stylist Kanta)

Contact: Amber Apartment, NS Road 10, Near HSBC Bank, JVPD Scheme, Juhu, Mumbai - 022-26133966, 022-65762004, JW Marriott - 022-66993000, 022-66933620, The Westin Hotel at Goregaon - 022-65102011, Apollo Bunder - 022-22852012 /2375

5. Christiaan Georgio

Transform dull hair into a wow factor hair in just 30 minutes with the help of renowned hair stylist. Situated at Grand Hyatt Mumbai (off Western Express Highway) this ultra chic hair salon is your answer to perfection in hair styling. If you are looking for a blow dry, let me tell you this is the best place in town for a blow dry.

The place spells of luxury and exemplifies the ambience of a plush lounge. And if you are thinking of a short bob then this is 'the place' for you.

Trained at Vidal Sassoon and Trevor Sorbie Hair Academy in London and Melbourne Hair Academy, Christiaan Georgio has tamed the trés chic tresses of stars like Eva Longoria, Angelina Jolie and Monica Bellucci. Georgio's clientele in India includes most of Bollywood, high-end corporate executives and socialites. He personally attends to all his clients from start to finish.

Recommended Stylist: Christian Georgio (of course) but if you want someone lighter on your wallet would recommend Renee (Rs. 1,685)

Charges: Rs. 1,685 -3,370 (including taxes)

6. Mad O Wot by Sapna Bhavani
Another popular celebrity stylist salon in Mumbai is 'Mad O Wot' by Sapna Bhavani. A self-taught hairstylist, Sapna Bhavnani works the tresses of the limelight-prone — be it Bollywood celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Minisha Lamba, Priyanka Chopra, the Reddy sisters (Sushma, Sameera and Meghna) or the cricket brat-pack led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.

They say, 'we don't follow trends, we create them'. So if you want something different, edgier or maybe funky this is the salon for you.

Mad O Wot Hair Salon:

Plot No 450, Ground Floor Hemkund Society, close to Bombay Blues Restaurant, 14th Road, Bandra (W) Mumbai - 400050

Contact: 022-65290288, 022-65290289

7. Toni and Guy
The famous Toni and Guy also opened its doors in Mumbai somewhere in 2008. It sure is a trendy salon (with white interiors) with their trendy hair stylists, but I wouldn't say much about the hair cut as was not good enough. But yes, finally, you can find the so-sought after GHD Hair Straighteners at Toni and Guy Mumbai at Bandra. They have two salons in town, one in the suburbs and the other in South Mumbai (don't know much about the Cuff Parade one).

Toni and Guy - Bandra
207/208, Allied Bungalow, Pali Naka, Near Golds Gym, St Johns Road, Bandra West, Mumbai - 400050

The famous British hair salon, Saks located in Bandra and Andheri is a good option too. Other than hair they will also have manicures, pedicures and some state-of-the-air beauty treatments. It's a good option too -

  2. Honestly I would really not recommend that you go for hair straightening using any technique. It is really harmful for hair and eventually you'll find your hair getting really rough and witnessing hairfall. I've seen that happening to many women.

Since you have time in your hands, I would suggest grow your hair and learn how to blowdry your hair straight and wavy, it looks really good. You could try youtube videos to learn. Also get a trim from a good hair stylist, read my post above (you can go to b:Blunt). You can visit Nirmala Shetty at Nirmal Herbals to get a natural hair treatment. They massage your hair with oil and apply all goodies for growing hair and making them healthier and she'll give you a good diet chart. This will help.

And for the wedding functions, you can use a straightener (exception and spray for heat protection). However if you still feel the need to straighten, then go to a good salon for permanent straightening as they use the latest technology and good quality products. b:Blunt is good for it.

  4. For Rs 500 you could try Enrich or stretch your budget a little and visit Juice. Enrich I have not visited personally but have heard decent reviews from acquaintances. They havea salon in Vile Parle West and across Mumbai.

  5. Comment Posted: Hey,
Very informative write-up! I currently reside in Washington D.C., but am planning to visit Mumbai soon. Well, I have quite long hair- hitting below my butt, all of same length. However, there ain't much expertise among stylist here as far as long hair goes and hence I've never dared to entrust my hair with any of them. Considering this, which salon/stylist would you recommend- Christiaan Georgio or B Blunt?
    Plz lemme know..

    Thanks a bunch!

  6. @Anonymous: I would recommend b:Blunt among the two. Since you have long hair, you should strongly tell them how short you are willing to go and be firm about it. They'll then work around it. You can go for a very senior stylist like Osh or try Kadamberi or Naz. All are good.

  9. @Sarth: For a good haircut, Chritstina is good at b:Blunt salon. She charges Rs 850 and is in their Khar salon. You can also go for Kadamberi @1800. Yesterday I was at b:Blunt and I saw Kadamberi working on a guy's hair and I quite liked what she did.

  17. @Anonymous - I would recommend you visit b:Blunt and get the haircut from either Naz (Peddar Road) or Kadamberi (Juhu). They both are very good.

Among JCB, b:Blunt and Christian Georgio I would recommend b:Blunt.

As for the shampoo, get Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. They have a store and treatment center at Palladium mall in Lower Parel. Their expert will analyse your hair and give you the best option for your hair type and problem. Kerastase is also available at b:Blunt salons.

  18. @Anonymous - Hairstyle for Square Face: Considering that you are a girl (you didnt specify), I would suggest that you go for side-swept fringes. It will cut on the squareness of the face. Try getting the wispy side (fringe) falls just below the chin to make the face angular to create the illusion of a longer face. Soft curves will soften your jaw and hence would be great for square face. Hope this helps!!!

  19. hairstyle for square face for male I meant

    ReplyDelete
  20. For men with square face the most important thing is that do not go for center parting style, it will accentuate the squareness and make your face look box-like.

Ask your stylist to give you layers in your hair and add height to the crown, which will make the face appear longer. Don't go too short, medium-ok short hair cut is best. Layers are your thing, they look cool and are easy to maintain without too many product requirement.

  24. @Ranbeer: between Kadamberi and Maz, I'd say Kadamberi for men as I have seen her doing good work. If budget is not a constraint then you can also go for Osh or Avan Contractor. They're the top notch and work on the manes of the who's who in Bollywood including Fardeen, Saif, Amir, Hrithik.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If you don't want to go short, I'd suggest just get a trim, and if you like maybe fringes (long ones) to change the look. For the wedding you can try different styles like straightening for some function and getting waves for the others and keeping natural too.

Don't expirement if you're not comfortable with it.

  28. Hey. Great work on the blog!!

I'm a girl with waist length straight hair. I straightened it in oct 2010 from enrich. I had naturally straight silky and thin hair to begin with. The stylist anisha nair ( please avoid her) told me my frizzy hair would become smooth if I go for xtenso smoothening. She ruined it. Now its become too thin, falls flat on my head, and there is loads of hairfall. I think a haircut might help curb that. What do you think?

Please recommend a good stylist , good hair style that I should go for and some good treatment for my rapidly decreasing mane. It is silk soft and silky, but damn thin and falls flat on the scalp - no volume at all.
I'm 25, and have an oval face. Budget around 2 to 2.5 k.

Also, you mentioned kadambari in a few posts. is she good with straight hair for women? How about naz?

    Thanks in advance. God bless.

    -Troubled Tresser

  29. Hair thinning is a common problem with honestly no guaranteed solution. You will have to do trial and error and find out what works best for you. I know a few people who tried Richfeel, but no results. Same for Dr. Batra.

As for your haircut, you can visit Kadamberi and explain her what you want and emphasise that you want to maintain the length. Even the best of stylists have their limitations when it comes to thinning hair, especially on top. But you need to experiment and find styles that would hide the problem areas. Ask your stylist how can you work to create volume. I've got my hair done from Kadamberi a couple of times and I found her good.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks for your help!!

The thing is, I don't mind going short. Just need volume. A friend suggested mad-o-wat, and another suggested bblunt. In your opinion which is a better bet?

Also, naz doesn't show yup on their website...any ideas on whether she left bblunt?

    ReplyDelete
  31. For short hairdo and bob, you can try our b:Blunt. They have some really good stylists for that. You can call their Peddar Road Salon and check if Naz is working there or not. They dont have names of all the stylists on their websites.

  36. Any good stylist would be able to give you a good haircut. You can try Kadamberi at b:Blunt, explain her the problem and whether you can blowdry everyday or want something low maintenance. How short you want to go from front and back and she'll be able to work around it.

As for hair straightener, GHDs are the best, but maybe difficult to find. You can go for other good brands but make sure you get the ceramic plated straightener. Check this link, it has details of beauty websites from where you can buy hair straighteners and other products for your hair: http://styledestino.blogspot.in/2012/02/online-beauty-stores-in-india.html

  37. Hey SJ,I have long straight beautiful hair all of same length.I want nice haircut for my hair,i hv round face shape.please suggest me which one i should go layerd, feathers or blunt cut.I want stylish but decent look for myself.

    1. For round face I would recommend side swept fringes. Fringes look stylish and can be styled in various ways. Side swept fringe will cut the roundness of the face and looks really good. Length of hair is a very personal choice, but long hair usually have an edge over the shorter one, as you can style long hair in several ways.

Layers will add volume to your hair.

You can also check this link on what hairstyle will suit your face: http://beautify-flr.blogspot.in/2010/04/what-hairstyle-for-you.html

    Have a broad fore-head.
Now is the time I wanna o for hair- cut but before that I am considering permanent straightening as an option.
I want bangs to cover my forehead and do. It want to reduce the length.
Please suggest keeping all my desires and demands listed in mind.

    Thank you in advance!

    1. Hi Malvika

First I would not recommend permanent straightening as it is really harmful for hair and will dry them out and might even cause hairfall in the long run. So avoid that.

With right hairstyling and care you can get rid of frizziness. You have the perfect hairstyle on your mind - for your round face going for side swept bangs would be a good idea. Side bangs will cut the roundness and adds angles to the overall face shape. You can go shoulder length. But avoid keeping the bangs too short as it will accentuate cheeks making your face look fuller.

Long layers also work well for round face as cutting layers starting from cheeks elongate the face giving an illusion of oval shape.

      Hope this helps!!

    1. Actually Jean Claude Biguine is quite good for men. Earlier the French stylist Edwin used to work wonders on men's mane but he is not in Mumbai anymore. I've heard good review of their French stylist in Juhu salon (I think her name is Celine but double check that 022-66995555) and even Nadeem is good.

You can also try Dilshad Pastakia (she's quite famed celebrity hairstylist)in Bandra (Dilshad's salon 022-26431770, 26430120).
Good luck, am sure you'd get a wonderful cut this time.

  44. Hello !
Actually I want a new haircut since I'm going to a boarding for 2 years. It's a school so I've to keep in mind that my hair shouldn't come over my eyes or something that way (I've to tie it up in a ponytail). And I'm not sure about my face structure. [I'll upload a pic of mine so that you can figure out my face structure and so that accordingly you can suggest me something good].
I want a funky haircut actually, but yet a bit decent for school. I've seen that above you've mentioned Alam at Juice or b:blunt, I prefered Alam because he was in my budget too, but then I heard that he no longer works at Juice. I can spend max 800 rupees on my hair. Any place will do! Please guide me where to go, which parlour and which stylist.
I'll be coming to Mumbai maybe the 1st or 2nd week of May. So I've to take an appointment I guess. So please give me the numbers too of each of the salons you recommend so that I won't have any problem when I reach Mumbai.
Sorry, I'm really confused, lol. I'm actually mixing up thing, but please understand :P
Umm, my hair is meduim length, straight wavy types; but more of straight. (you can see it when I upload the pic; I'm REALY CONFUSED ABOUT MY HAIR). And please if you can, suggest me which haircut would suit me, though I'll take the stylist's reccomendation too.
Umm, I guess that's a lot now and you have it mind what I actually want. It has to be FUNKY please!!

Thank you in advance and please revert back soon. I'll be waiting. :)

    2. Hi Shaswati!!!

Going for something funky yet maintaining the balance for the school can be tricky.

You can go for side bangs little longer in length, something that would end just a bit above your chin (this way you can tie them using some bobby pin and the bangs will give that edge when you want to keep them open or tie with the bangs out).

Alternatively you can go for an angular bob (longer bob so you can tie), or maybe asymmetrical one. It looks chic yet edgy and can be easily tied.

For edgier cut, I'd strongly recommend b:Blunt, their stylists are good at it. Best would be to call them up and check with them who'd be the best option in your budget. There's a Parsi chic in their Juhu salon, I can't remember her name, who's quite good and would be around Rs 800.

I didn't get your picture, so don't know your face shape yet. You can always check with the stylist and they'll help you or can browse through magazines for some more ideas.

The number and address of JUHU and other b:Blunt is given above in the article. Hope this helps. Do share your reviews with us, would help others as well :)

  48. Hi SJ.. Loved reading your review. Good piece of writing.
Have had cuts from Naz and she did a good job. She is not in town now.
I am 27 years pregnant and need a haircut for my thin straight hair rightaway...preferably a bob with bangs. Could you please advise -
    A) if bob cut would suit my pregnancy rounding face:) or anything else for a "rounding" face
    B) a stylist in bandra as good as Naz ..would Dilshad be good for a short haircut?? Have not heard much about her
    C) is jcb a good option and a good French hairstylist u would recommend
Price is not a hold up. Anything for a good cut to go with my Pregy glow;)
Do help with your expert advice at the earliest.
    Cheers..

    1. Thanks for your feedback Blossom.

In Bandra I will recommend you visit The Saks Salon. Its an international hair salon chain from UK. Alam is quite good there and would give a good cut. I wouldn't recommend a Bob as it accentuates the roundness of the face. You certainly should go for bangs they look chic and would cut add sharpness to the face to cut the roundness.

JCB is also good, their French stylists are all good. But Alam is the first preference and he charges Rs 1,500.

For a short haircut I would recommend you fix any good stylist at b:Blunt. Call them up and give your budget and tell them what you need. Juhu and Peddar Road both branches are best so book only at one of these. You can look for Naz at Peddar Road one.

also ive tried a lot of haircuts already.. the previous one really made me lose my confidence on experimenting. so hope she gives me a confidence boost as well :p

You can try Alam at Saks, explain him you need to maintain length but need to change the look. You could try some side swept bangs perhaps. If you want something edgy, try one of the French stylists and Jean Claude Biguine or Sapna or mad-o-wat.

If you're looking for the best, then Adhuna or Osh from b:Blunt are the best stylists, however appointment from them can be difficult. Nevertheless you can try.

    1. You can go to Jean Claude Biguine for the straightening treatment. However, honestly straightening method of any kind is bad for hair. It harms the hair in the long term. I'd rather suggest you buy some good Kerastese products for fixing frizz. Learn how to blow dry straight (get a good one with ions and even cold dry option) and buy a GHD straightener (you can find at Toni and Guy).

  74. Hey SJ!
I desperately need a new hairstyle. I look the same for as long as I can remember. I generally have shoulder length hair. Wherever i go for a cut, I generally come out with step cut and layers in the front. My hair is a little bit wavy, soft curls. Actually, wherever the hair ends, it curls around that part. If i try to keep it short in the front, like till between the ear and chin, it doesn't stay straight, it gets wavy and comes up and ends up looking not nice.
I want a short hair style, but generally the stylists advise against it. Because my hair is dry and would get frizzy and wavy n puff a lot if i shorten it. Does that mean i'll be stuck with my century old style forever n there's no short hair option for me?
Please suggest what style can i go for? Short styles would be preferable. My face shape is oval. And i want a low maintenance style, as I don't blow dry or use straightening iron ever. (and cus i don't earn!)
And also, which salon do i opt for? Budget: 500-1000. Can stretch a little more if after the cut i'll go " wow! my hair looks oh so awesome!" (even after washing the hair several times :p).
    PLEASE PLEASE reply asap.

  75. Hey Radhika, wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

Going short of long is a personal choice, and a good stylist can give you a good short cut as well. So I'd recommend that you try a good stylist and tell her/him you want to go short and they'll surely be able to help. b:Blunt's stylists are veyr good esp for short hair. Call them up and give your budget and see who can you get. Only go to Juhu or Peddar Road salon.

When you're getting the cut and before that, have a good talk with the stylist explaining your problem and how can they work around it. Also go for a stylist with experience, when you book check with them how many yrs exp they have. While getting the cut, get some tips on how to style your hair once you go short. They'll help.

    Hope this helps.

  79. Hi sweetie

Getting volume in thin straight hair is a challenge. I understand what you mean. I'd suggest call up Jean Claude's Bandra salon and ask for an Italian stylist. Explain her your problem and what you need and what you don't. The stylist willl work around it.

I'd suggest go for fringes (side swept) as it suits long face. And some layers would add volume. Discuss it with the stylist as they're expert and you can give your ideas and understand. A good discussion before the haircut always helps, so do that.

    Good luck

  95. Hello SJ,
I read your article on the top salons in SoBo, and I too have heard some very postive reviews about the same, now my problem is that ,My hair are very straight and smooth and they just flow over, this means that I can't style my hair and hold it at that position without any gel, they revert back to the original position,Is ther any solution for this? an alternate shampoo? a different hair stylist? My budget is around 2k
Another problem that I encounter is that I usually sleep on my side ,and this generally means that moment I get up in the morning My hair is all standing up from the side of my head, this looks pathetic and it doesnt settle down unless I apply water and hold down my hair that too for about 45 mins otherwise they just pop right up, this just happens in the morning. I know it sounds kinda funny and contradicting when I say that my hair doesnt settle down in the morning but is usually smooth and free flowing during the rest of the day,but thats the way it is.
Pleeease help me,I'm looking out for your reply.I'm a guy in my early twenties, thanks in advance :)

    2. Hey, extremely sorry for the delay, was travelling.

Since its your wedding, you would want something smart but not trendy. Playing safe is best. I would suggest you go to the French stylist at Jean Claude Biguine Juhu (a skinny girl, you'll have to call and get her name). Discuss with her what kind of look would you want. If she's not available, try any good male stylist (Senior) at b:Blunt (Juhu or Peddar Road).

You can go for treatments like Kerastase hair ritual, that would make hair soft (available at b:Blunt and Jean Claude). For the wedding day, you can ask the hair stylist to use Toppik on your hair (they're powdered hair fibres used to conceal bald patches). If they dont have it, you can buy it from Beauty Palace in Oshiwara.

I hope this helps. Good luck for the wedding (hope you got this message on time)

    3. Thanks a ton SJ.
It would be great if you can tell me name of the skinny girl hair stylist at JCB. I want to fix an appointment on phone before going. So it would be difficult to identify.
Or else if you may tell me the name of b blunt senior hair stylist. It would be really kind of you.
      Cheers.

  103. Hey,
I have shoulder length wavy hair. I wanted to get a smoothening treatment done with some highlights for an upcoming wedding and I am really confused about which salon will be my best option, since this will be my first time. I would really like your opinion on it, that would be great.
    Looking forward to your reply.
    Thanks.

    1. You can go to any good salon for it. John Paul Mitchell is recommeded. You can take ure own product if they dont have it, cos these hair smoothening products contain chemicals that are harmful for health. I cam across this article, you shud read it too: http://www.elle.com/beauty/hair/sleek-dreams-best-new-hair-smoothers-560414

John Freida is also good. FOr salons you cud try b:Blunt, Saks, Juice, Jean Claude Biguine,, all are good.

      gud luck

  107. Hi SJ,

    I hv long curly hair.
After hair bath, I dont comb my hair for natural spring like strings ! Now i want to go for short cut.. Will u pl suggest me a good hair stylist for my kind of hair in mumbai ?

    1. For short hair I'd recommend Celine at Jean Claude Biguine Juhu salon. Explain her your problem and she'll give you a cut suited for you. Also ask her different ways you can style your curls and the best hair products to make the best of curls.

      Good luck :)

  108. Hi SJ,

Great blog! I am thinking of getting a Mohawk (a proper one!). I have natural blonde hair, broad head and wear specs. Which salon out of B-blunt or JCB would you recommend for GUYS and this particular cut? I don't wanna mess this up, because if it turns out bad, i'll have to trim my whole hair down. I generally visit Juice and they are decent. I am confused as to which out of these salons would be better for the required cut? Also, would a Mohawk look good with a broad face and specs?
I am ready to spend around 800rs. Also, please suggest me a stylist along with the salon, if you can. Or else it ok. :)
    Awaiting your reply.

    1. hey there, Mahawk works well on square face, but you got to get the style right. If you already have a set hair dresser at Juice I'd suggest you get your haircut dont with him, unless you're not sure if he can give you the right style.
b:Blunt, Biguine both are good, but it really depends which stylist suits whom.

You can book a senior hair stylist at b:Blunt (For mohawk I'd recommend a male) or you can visit your regular one. Try a more conservative mohawk like David Beckham than a funky one. Hope this helps

    2. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am looking at a more conservative one than a really out of the top one. My current stylist is a female, plus I don't think she would be that good for a Mohawk. Hence I am looking at B-Blunt and JCB. Really confused between the two though. Could you suggest me a stylist in the sub 1000 range? It would be really helpful.
      Thanks.

    3. Why dont you try Alam at Saks in Bandra? He was with Juhu earlier. He should fit your budget. Alternatively, in JCB ask for a senior guy stylist, they're all good.

    1. Hi Maghav

You can visit Biguine at Juhu and book a haircut with Celine (She'd fit in your budget). Explain her your problem and discuss with her what haircut would look best on you. If you have specific cut in mind carry a picture of that, it will help. Do share your review with us.

  110. Dear SJ, love your blog. I like experimenting with my hair be it colour or different styles. last time i coloured it from Hakim & got spoilt. my hair are damaged with colour & straightening. I need a good haircut, change my hair colour & may be a keratin treatment too. Please advise

    1. Hi Farheen
Colouring and other chemical treatment do damage the hair in the long term. But if you do it, you ought to maker sure you give your hair the right nourishment. I'd suggest you try this place called Nirmal Herbals (google it online and check their website) and try their Hair Treatment for 8 weeks (Every week) and see if there is a difference. They give natural food treatment on your hair which does help.

For hair cut and coloring try out Jean Claude Biguine. They have good stylists. You can take the keratin treatment from them only.

    1. I'd suggest go for side swept bangs (fringe), It will cut the roundness of your face and add some drama to the front. If you want to tie, you can use pins to keep the bangs in place. Naz at b:blunt is a good stylist and should be able to give you the desired hair. She will be a bit above your budget, if thats a problem ask for Vanessa at Juhu b:blunt.

    1. Hey, thanks for ure feedback.

I'd suggest you get side swept bangs (or if you like to experiment and go bold, front straight bangs). They'd look great with long hair. Add some layers in the length, it shud look fab. Side swept bangs look gud pretty much on all face shape. As for hair stylist, you could try the French stylist at Jean Claude Biguine or Kadamberi at b:blunt. Be very specific with them and reiterate 2-3 times that you want to maintain length.

gud luck, do share your feedback of haircut and stylist, will be useful for readers
