The classic black and white houndtooth checks have been presented in tasteful overdose in Salvatore Ferragamo's A/W 2011-12 collection. And I am so in love with them.
And it wasn't just Salvatore sporting them, Stella McCartney also had the houndstooth check in her Resort 2012 collection.
I want them, I want them, I want them!!!!
There is a reason for me to cheer. When the world economies are in doldrums, the industry that serves the food on my platter (finance) is not looking in a great shape and the cash crunch is affecting the purchasing ability of consumers (in this case I am the affected party), it becomes hard even for a fashion aficionado, like me, to even think about 'investing' in the most worthwhile of investments like Salvatore Ferragamo and Stella McCartney. Simply because the words cash and crunch are the two most dominating factors here.
Nevertheless, I am in a merriment............. because I already have an (almost) perfect pair of houndstooth checks shoes to lift my spirits (why almost perfect? a somewhat higher heel would have made them just perfect, but hey I am not complaining).
These shoes were buried in my wardrobe, and I am happy to have rediscovered them. In fact I very much remember buying a matching bag with these; will soon dig it out too.
I've always thought of houndstooth check print more suited to sophisticated and formal outfits so I tried to work it in a more casual look with a low-key vibe.
Paired them with a simple tee (which is my latest love), my day-to-night skirt (remember I wore it here?). Considering that this look and re-discovery of these shoes was completely inspired by Salvatore Ferragamo's collection, I needed something to give the right touch to finish this look and this hat was the perfect item to add the required poise and effortless sophistication without spelling it too loud.
It won't be an exxageration to say that I am practically living in this t-shirt. I am sure I've mentioned earlier that I had never been a t-shirt person, and this recent pick is one of its kind in my wardrobe. I have a major crush on it. And here it is, yet again....

How I wore them?
Although I loved the houndstooth overdose of Ferragamo, I wouldn't really wear it head-to-toe. So I snagged my few favourite items and integrated them with the houndstooth shoes.
