Finding a gift for a man can be a tough task, the choices are limited and the usuals - box of chocolate, bouquet or a shopping spree do not please him. I am not an expert, but over many SOS gifting ideas for friends, having to help my brothers and guy friends with their shopping, I'd like to believe I've acquired some knowledge (or atleast a broad idea) about what would make as a good gift for men.
So for this Valentine's I've made the task easier - smart gift ideas for Valentine's Day to suit all budgets. I've squared down the gifting options into few categories: fashion, gadgets, watches and grooming (includes pampering). I'd update this list time and again to ensure the list is fresh out from the oven. Tink!

Cuff Links
A pair of stylish and interesting cuff-links would add the right amount of sophistication and make for the perfect gift. Contemporary Tateossian Cufflinks have unique and really drool-worthy options that should bring a smile to his face when he unwraps it (starts at Rs 10000 or £95). Think combi of unique diamond pattern and USB flash drive - stylish and functional, or some luxe-quirk with the Swarovski encrusted Owl cuff-links or if he's a sports buff they have a collection made up of twelve different sporting activities (sailing is featured below). If you thought this is cool, then think Mechanical London swiveling sports cuff links with dynamic all-moving parts; now seriously can anything match that? In India you'll find them at The Collective stores or you can order them online.
If your guy loves sophistication with subtle display of luxe these Salvatore Ferragamo cuff-links are your answer ($195 and ships worldwide).
Intelligent Gadgets
Gadgets and men have the same chemistry which women and shoes have. Why not get your guy something he'll love you for? These smart gadgets could make for a wonderful gift without breaking your budget. For something useful you can get him the USB mug warmer to ensure that he always gets his coffee hot even if he forgets to sip it in the midst of his work.
Or does the fact that your guy talks on phone while driving always worries you? Why not gift him a slick and smart Bluetooth headset, perhaps Plantronics Voyager? And if he loves music what can be better than some nice pair of headphones or speakers. This smart and luxe Frends Taylor Headphones would be the perfect gift or what about the really trendy Beats speaker that's wireless, Bluetooth enabled and portable? Now that will surely bring a smile on his face.
Stylish Bag
Your discerning modern man, who cares about his style, would love a smart bag for his office, travel, college or just on the go. He knows that bag is a necessary tool and style accessory, so gift him one that would be best for his need. Here are my picks of best men's bags to gift for Valentine's {and they're vegan, stylish and luxe bags}
Gray Chambray Stripes for $105, Glasgow Scottish Wool Tie for $130 and Blackwatch for $105
Smart Non-leather Wallet
I love when the gift comes with compassion and a smart vegan wallet would be a great way to say you love. To top that when your vegan wallet comes with hi-tech technology its a great reason to buy him one. This 3D textured vegan men's wallet from Stewart Stand is love at first sight, its smart, futuristic, sophisticated and comes with unauthorized transmission from Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID) enabled credit cards & IDs, by creating a barrier when your cards are inside.
Can't get your hands on them {Stewart Stand wallets are available in US, Canada, Singapore and they ship worldwide}? Try these other smart vegan wallets. You can also check No Harm for vegan gifting (wallets, shoes).
For the man who never loves to be late
This is where you can't go wrong in bringing a smile to your bloke's face - WATCH. Every man loves a good one and it could be your way of showing that you'll be ready on time for all your outings {yes? no?}. Never mind, but these beauties will still make a great gift - Nixon Black and Blue or Michael Kors Gold (Nixon about Rs 30k and MK Rs 20k or under $500), take your pick knowing what he'd like.
For a luxury and watch lover how about this Breguet Marine Royale watch with an 18k rose gold featuring an automatic movement with an alarm mechanism and sporty rubber strap? It would be the ultimate Valentine's gift for him.
Spa Gift Voucher
Why not pamper him with a spa? One of my friends gifted her beau with a spa treat, which he totally loved. I think its an amazing way to show you love him. Plus it will be a great treat considering most of us live such hectic lifestyle.
If you're in Mumbai I'd recommend Sohum Spa (Juhu) and Four Seasons Hotel Spa (Worli). They have the best treatments and are worth every penny. I would not spend my money on the highly acclaimed Myrah Spa.
In fact for your guy who is always pressed with time, a Spa on wheels would make a great gift. Give him give the perfect pampering session on Valentine's (en route) from his office to home {Mumbai's Four Fountain's Spa}, he'll come all relaxed and rejuvenated for a great Valentine's evening.
