About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

French Tuesdays Mumbai: 1st Anniversary Bash

French Tuesdays Mumbai: 1st Anniversary Bash

French Tuesdays - the worldwide rendezvous club celebrated its first anniversary party of Mumbai Chapter last night at one of the city's most hip venue Blue Frog. This member's exclusive club organises couture nightlife every month, once a month, on Tuesday (hence the name French Tuesdays) at the most happening venues worldwide from New York, LA, San Francisco, Mexico,  São Paulo to Paris, London to  Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and our very own Mumbai. A white Audi A7 welcomed us at the entrance and the event got my brownie points when the brimming photographer clicked us with FT's backdrop giving a celebrity-like treatment and I spotted lots of fashion people right at the entrance including Bandana Tewari, Narendra Kumar. Dressed appropriately to the theme of the night: "Chic & Elegant” with a touch of something ‘white’, the wonderful crowd emanated electrifying energy (yes even on a Tuesday!!!) and rocked the party as the hours progressed. The white the

New Buy: Online Shoe Shopping

New Buy: Online Shoe Shopping

This is not just a box!!!!! Lipsy Shoes(buy from here , no more available on Lipsy) For a long time I have been obsessing over these leopard print shoes (I've been looking for a nice pair of pumps for the longest of time). So it was only a matter of time that I gave in and finally ordered these online from http://www.javari.co.uk/  (yes from UK) on 10 April (despite the fact that if they didn't fit right I would probably not be able to return them. Now I must warn you I am quite a, calculated, risk taker). Holymoly!!! Imagine my surprise when the postman arrived to deliver them at my Mumbai address on 13 April. Can you believe it? An amazing pair of shoes that looked just as good as they did on the website arriving in exact three days all the way from England with all the costs paid (yes, yes, yes including the custom and import duties). These shoes are 'the perfect' addition to my shoe closet and I am absolutely loving them. They lift up even a

Where the sun always shines

Where the sun always shines

You've seen this before, but I loved it (outfit inspired by post Colours of India ). Fashion for me has never been about following a certain trend, although of course inspiration abound. I feel style is like life, it evolves with your exprience and exposure. It is in a constant state of flux and refinement. I've been trying to find my feet between me (two yrs back [known as the black clad lady]) and me (now) sartorially; and finally I found my spot. I was never a risk averse person (for as long as I remember) so why the holding back? Fashion for me is now about "why not?". And this outfit with a burst of colours is just a re-iteration of it. Zara Skirt , D&G Cardigan and Sunglasses , Warehouse Shirt , River Island Shoes, Ring own design Yellow and Pink? Why not. Red and Yellow? Sounds great. Brown and Orange? Sure. It'd sound crazy on paper but all of it mixed together?  Wooooooooooo. The excitement of clashing colours was st

Colours of India

Colours of India

It is amazing how you can find talent in the most unexpected places. On one of my online journeys, I discovered some wonderful pictures clicked by unknown yet really talented photographers who captured the colours of India at the most unusual places through their lenses. Shashwat Shah , a photographer by hobby and jeweler by profession, does not like to take pictures of the obvious places like h eritage sites or museums, but rather he loves to click private houses and havelis  hidden in unknown alleys of Rajasthan, which are symbol of cultural grandeur and splendour of yesteryears but are now mostly in dilapidated states. The houses that he has brought to life through his photography, most of which are atleast 200 years old, have beautiful wall art, windows, frescoes, domes and exquisite carvings and are a testimony of the glorious history of India.  On one of his photographic ventures, while capturing these images, Shashwat was amazed to discover that these exotic mur
