About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

6 Ways to Look Stylish at Office

What you wear at work has a major impact at your success. Looking stylish yet work-appropriate can be tricky considering there's a very thin line between appropriate and stylish when it comes to formal wear. While you obviously want to be dressed in a formal attire at your office, you still want to experiment and look stylish.

Here I have rounded up six tricks you could use to take your work ensembles from boring to stylish without stepping out of the workwear boundaries.

Are you ready to be the best dressed at office?

Tip 1 - Liven up your basic 9-5 wear with some prints.
How we get bored of the solid coloured or striped shirts at office and yet pick the same style over and over again? It's time you swapped your regular shirts with some prints that'll make an impact yet be subtle.

For this summer, I went for some pastels using the monochrome route for my officewear by pairing a printed shirt with similar hued pencil skirt in solid.

Tip 2 - Inject colour into your look with outerwear
Add a little edge to your basic blazer by painting it bright. Going completely bright may not always make a pleasant sight at work, and you may get some raised eyebrows, but you need not always play it (completely) safe. Swap your basic blazer with a bright coloured (or maybe printed) one for an instant chic. If that seems much for you, try a bright manicure at work. It'll surely add a nice touch.

This bright blue blazer instantly moved this simple look to top notch while being completely work appropriate. A very simple way to be stylish at work.

Tip 3 - A statement necklace can completely transform your look
Dress up basics with a statement necklace to instantly add the work-appropriate glam at work. But make sure its not clinky otherwise it may be a distraction for everybody at work and may not put you in the good books of your boss.

Tip 4 - Put up a feminine spin with a lace blouse or polka dots
Ban strict formals for a day and instead inject some femininity to your workwear. It could be through a formal lacy blouse or shirt teamed with a pair of formal pants or a bold shirt with a nice polka dot trousers. And if you can pull them off both together, there's nothing better. Just make sure you pick the right pieces as you don't want to look like you're going off for a soiree.

Here I teamed both of them together for Friday with business casuals dress code. Worked this office look from day to night - for the day I wore the lacy top with polka trousers with my work hobo bag {not shown here}. While for the evening (went straight from work for a dinner with friends) swapped the hobo with this clutch and added a statement necklace.

Tip 5 - Get into your sporty side
Are you having a big yawn with the same ole, same ole. It's time to crack that safety shell and experiment with the pants - try out the sports inspired side-striped pants. It'll immediately turn your boring workwear to interesting. For a work appropriate look, limit your outfit to a two-tone color palette

Tip 6 - Add chic with a tuck out
The new workwear dress code reflects the sartorial mood - chic mixed with comfort. Untuck your button-downs and add a statement necklace. Pair it with skinny trousers or sports inspired trousers {even better} for acing this season's sports luxe trend. This is how I wore it for work.

When it comes to the choice of  my shoes at work, I would never be seen without heels and fortunately we don't have a policy to always slip into closed-toes, so you can also experiment with your shoes depending on the season and trends. I love my summer wedges at work - they're high yet comfortable; while for winters I swap them with pumps or even closed-toe wedges.
