About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

Beauty Drink: Pomegranate & Berry Smoothie

Beauty Drink: Pomegranate & Berry Smoothie

Pomegranate and Berry Smoothie has become my current favorite smoothie to kick-off the day. I made it for the first time 2 weeks ago and have been having it ever since for nearly every morning right after my workout. This recipe came together randomly while I was trying to add the nutrition powerhouse pomegranate seeds to my diet and it ended up blowing my mind. This super nutritious smoothie has a super creamy texture and tastes wonderful. I've been aware of how good pomegranate is for health but did you know that it contains 3 times more antioxidants than green tea? Pomegranate is loaded with nutrients including high content of vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, protein and fiber. In fact several studies have shown that having pomegranate juice daily prevents prostate cancer cells from moving and weakening the chemical signals that promote this kind of cancer to spread in the first place. While I am not fond of pomegranate juice on its own, its too sweet, but it makes a gr

Healthy Skin: Peach Blueberry & Spinach Smoothie

Healthy Skin: Peach Blueberry & Spinach Smoothie

I can't think of a better way to start a Sunday than to have this creamy smoothie that's packed with nutrients yet tastes super delicious. As much as I liked having freshly made smoothies in Scandinavia, after coming back from a nearly month long vacation I really needed to get my blender rolling for some freshly made smoothies from my kitchen.Cooking is not really my forte, but smoothie is that one thing I don't mind getting inside the kitchen for. In just 10 minutes I can whip a delicious smoothie that can rival the most nutritious meal around and it is a good enough filling breakfast to make a great start of the day too! Scrumptious and filling - here is the power smoothie that I've been drinking for breakfast a lot lately and I am completely obsessed with. Just one glass and I feel incredible. Plus it is full of nutrients that is great for your skin, which I direly needed after all that my skin went through during a holiday. Don't be fooled by the green c

Summer in Norway: Vegan Norway Travel

Summer in Norway: Vegan Norway Travel

View from the flight while landing in Bergen, Norway After spending a week in Norway I have fallen in love with this place - it's like heaven on earth - literally!! The sheer beauty of this country is breathtaking.  We explored Norway at our own pace in a rental car making our way through the beautiful mountains, forests and across fjords taking roads and ferries, being blown away by the most beautiful sights and places on our journey. You can easily spend months exploring this gorgeous country surrounded by most breathtaking landscapes your eyes have ever seen topped with never ending beauty. Plus it is relatively untapped by tourists making it an amazing place for a relaxing reliving holiday. After travelling to many beautiful destinations in Western and Southern Norway, taking uncharted roads, steering away from the map to take unplanned impromptu journeys, and exploring them at leisure, I created this guide to travelling Norway to help you plan your own trip!

Post Workout Smoothie: Berry & Avocado

Post Workout Smoothie: Berry & Avocado

In the health department, berries have a fabulous reputation. They are full of antioxidants, high in fiber, loaded with Vitamin C and are also good for your heart and bone. Plus these summer fruits taste delicious adding a nice flavour and taste to your recipes.  While I love adding berries to almost all my smoothies, I particularly prefer a Berry Smoothie after a workout as it's very filling and super nutritious, complementing my workout regime.  This Berry and Avocado Smoothie is my favourite - it is very rich, creamy, sweet and refreshing. Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and avocados are the key ingredients in this post-workout breakfast smoothie. Berries & Avocado Smoothie Ingredients: 8-10 blueberries, 6-8 blackberries, 5 strawberries 1/2 avocado 1 plum 1/2 apple 6-7 raisins Almond milk {update: adding nut milk is not a good idea. Only use fruits and greens only to your smoothies, no granola or plant-milk} Instructions: Add all ingred

Vegan Food + Vegan Fashion: Apple & Pear Smoothie

Vegan Food + Vegan Fashion: Apple & Pear Smoothie

It's not often you'll find me doing food posts, and especially the DIY recipes {I have little aversion towards cooking, months and sometimes years pass by when I actually cook something other than water}. But every now and then I try to share my vegan and vegetarian experiments that my very dear cook helps me put together. One of my recent experiments was Apple and Pear Green Vegan Smoothie, that turned out surprisingly delicious. Apple Pear Green Smoothie - sounds so chic and healthy!! The colour was so tastefully green, not one of those green smoothies that scare you off. While this smoothie is perfect for the summer, served chilled, it also makes a great energy booster in the winter; when you want to start your day with a coffee but you'd rather have something that starts off the day delectably and keeps you refreshed all day to fight off that winter chill (and now I am almost sounding like a TV commercial -- STOP THAT!). When I saw this smoothie it immediately r

Mango and Avocado Smoothie

Mango and Avocado Smoothie

If you follow my Instagram feed, you would already know my love for healthy eating {I try my best to eat clean} and smoothies which I am particularly obsessed with. Although with my sweet tooth, I will equally comfortably leap off a plane in London and head to Govindas for their heavenly delectable vegan cakes I miss back here in Mumbai. Now who doesn't know the importance of a good breakfast? From a no breakfast person I have gradually graduated to one of those people who need pretty substantial meal right in the morning to keep me up and steady. With my newly acquired love for smoothies {its been a year and a half} I have been experimenting with several concoctions to keep my breakfast filling and palatable. And trust me a glass of smoothie can really keep your food cravings at bay if you start to get hungry early on. Mango and Avocado Smoothie is one of my favourites in summers. I prefer using fresh ingredients and completely avoid frozen fruits considering there are so

Avocado Soup for Midi Skirt

Avocado Soup for Midi Skirt

Zara Crop Top, Asos Midi Skirt, Stella McCartney Grace Bag & Steve Madden Shoes It doesn't matter how hard you work in the gym, if you don't control what you put on your plate. Unfortunately, I've been off track on my workout routine for quite sometime. And with Spring already making its way, its hard to resist wearing the crop tops and midi skirt - now isn't that an irony. So when the excitement of Spring-coming takes away your sanity and you incessantly start accumulating clothes that's not right for your body shape, what do you do? Start with the basics - clean eating. Situation - busy days, no time to workout, need to get back in shape Those days when you've been super busy and don't get enough time to workout and you're stressed, and you just need to eat something that tastes good at the same time that'll keep you away from putting on all those extra kilos? That's what this Avocado rice and avocado soup is about - delic

Green is the mood

Green is the mood

Lately my workout has been quietly crawling into the pending to-dos list, but to make up for that I am trying my best to eat well. Salads have become my go to meal for the evenings. And seriously making a delicious bowl of salad isn't a hard task. Just some good ingredients, little bit of imagination and you can toss a great concoction. In my latest experiments I tried some assorted lettuce with strawberries as the main note and it turned out really well. Ingredients/Recipe (Serves 2) - 6 leaves of iceberg lettuce - 6 leaves of Romaine lettuce - 3-4 strawberries diced - 1 small zucchini diced - half apple diced - 3/4 yellow bell pepper diced - 2 walnuts (small pieces) For Seasoning - fresh cracked pepper, to taste - dried Italian herbs (thyme, rosemary, oregano) - 1/4 cup orange juice - flax seeds or chia seeds - extra virgin olive oil or flax seed oil In a large bowl add all the ingredients and gently toss. Finish off with a drizzle of olive oil, and some

Zen Moment at a Plush Vegetarian Cafe in Mumbai

Zen Moment at a Plush Vegetarian Cafe in Mumbai

Zen Cafe Mumbai: cafe space that is center of creativity & urban respite Veggie Roll  Tomato Panini Latte Among the many things that I did while on this hiatus was finally visiting the {relatively} new vegetarian cafe doubled as a restaurant aka Zen Cafe. Now its an irony when you're unable to visit a place that's just two blocks away from your regular weekend hangout for five full months. Never mind. On a Saturday, after visiting Address Home at Raghuvanshi Mills (love this place for their Home Decor) for revving up my room with bright cushions and delirious with hunger I finally decided to visit Zen Cafe for an early dinner. Located at the mezzanine level of a furniture store, the cafe is surprisingly spacious (one thing that is pure luxury in Mumbai is space and it's always a delight to visit a place like this) with chic accents (beige comfi sofas). Just as the name suggests, Zen Cafe is not the kind of place to go with a rowdy crowd, o

Salad Prepping & Shopping

Salad Prepping & Shopping

 I've been dying to get these Miu Miu sunglasses and finally {accidentally} found them in India. I am such a happy girl today!! While at a recent trip to Jaipur, I had this amazing vegetarian Carrot Cake at Anokhi Cafe. Amazing place, a must visit for those cotton clothes shopping and having great veg desserts and salads. Weddings, shopping, travelling and loads of work, and among all of this I've been experimenting with a lot of vegan and vegetarian salads - leafy, bean, fruit+veggies+avacado and cucumber - the list is endless. And here's my latest one - Peach & Bean Salad. I am a huge salad buff, and I ensure that everyone around me eats a good portion of it (even if I have to gulp it down their throats forcefully). I may sound a bit self-conceited here, but trust me this one turned out really well. Even those who are allergic to salad {now allergic I don't mean in the medical sense here}, loved a bite of it. Since I've been asked a recipe f

Craving for Cupcakes {Vegan}

Craving for Cupcakes {Vegan}

“As long as we have memories, yesterday remains. As long as we have hope, tomorrow awaits. As long as we have cupcakes, today is beautiful.” - @CupcakesQuotes (These cupcakes had a long journey and hence they aren't as spruced up yet delectable) Colourful pretty cupcakes with blobs of sweet frosting garnered attention and fancy and had been the 'it' dessert among urban Indians. But for some the cupcake mania might be dissuading thanks to their ubiquity with every next bakery selling their own versions of cupcakes. Nevertheless, they're still one of the favourite items to satisfy my sweet craving. Ever since Natali of cakeitaway stopped baking her vegetarian and vegan cupcakes (remember reading Yummy Suff....... Best Cupcakes in Town ?), my craving for them only aggravated and the hunt for the vegetarian (only) place for cupcakes began. The determination and perseverance to quench the cupcake thirst {literally} finally lead me to the vegan home bakery  G
