It is amazing how you can find talent in the most unexpected places. On one of my online journeys, I discovered some wonderful pictures clicked by unknown yet really talented photographers who captured the colours of India at the most unusual places through their lenses. Shashwat Shah , a photographer by hobby and jeweler by profession, does not like to take pictures of the obvious places like h eritage sites or museums, but rather he loves to click private houses and havelis hidden in unknown alleys of Rajasthan, which are symbol of cultural grandeur and splendour of yesteryears but are now mostly in dilapidated states. The houses that he has brought to life through his photography, most of which are atleast 200 years old, have beautiful wall art, windows, frescoes, domes and exquisite carvings and are a testimony of the glorious history of India. On one of his photographic ventures, while capturing these images, Shashwat was amazed to discover that these exotic mur
When it comes to the question of which is the most stylish city of India, Mumbai and Delhi immediately props up on your mind. However which of them leads the other in the style department is hard to say - the flamboyant and ostentatious Delhi or the laid-back, effortless and chic Mumbai? Image - Styledestino As much as I love Bombay (oh I am still in love with the name Bombay, it captures the essence of this city), I have to admit shopping is so much better in Delhi. Mumbai's Phoenix Mills featuring Palladium and Sky Zone vs Delhi's Emporio, Promenade and Ambience Mall, need I even say more? The first time I stepped in Emporio I was totally in love with Delhi's shopping scene. It has everything at one place, and for a shopper like me, who likes organised places, it was a blessing. Ferragamo, Dior, Cartier, de grisogono, Stella McCartney, Giorgio Armani to Mango, Forever 21, Zara to Tarun Tahiliani, Gaurav Gupta, Rohit Bal; from high street to couture from internat
Finding a gift for a man can be a tough task, the choices are limited and the usuals - box of chocolate, bouquet or a shopping spree do not please him. I am not an expert, but over many SOS gifting ideas for friends, having to help my brothers and guy friends with their shopping, I'd like to believe I've acquired some knowledge (or atleast a broad idea) about what would make as a good gift for men. So for this Valentine's I've made the task easier - smart gift ideas for Valentine's Day to suit all budgets. I've squared down the gifting options into few categories: fashion, gadgets, watches and grooming (includes pampering). I'd update this list time and again to ensure the list is fresh out from the oven. Tink! (Last Updated: 27-Jan-2014) Cuff Links A pair of stylish and interesting cuff-links would add the right amount of sophistication and make for the perfect gift. Contemporary Tateossian Cufflinks have unique and really drool-worthy options that
Welcome to my Blog!!! After much contemplation I have finally started the much thought about - Style Destino. Its a relief that I can now see it in real, it is no more a visual image in my mind!!! I am a finance professional, but fashion is also my passion. Among the two I often get confused which one is a greater pull in my life. But a great deal of my attention and time goes towards either admiring, browsing, reading, advising (OK I am no personal celebrity[?] stylist, but a chat with few friends or my sis is what I am now referring as 'advising') or contriving about fashion. What will I do in Style Destino? I started this to share my widely read thoughts, personal style, observations and analysis of fashion. New store hunting and ransacking, some reviews and trends and popular styles would also be a part of it. Its not a celebrity following blog (now, there is huge celeb following and they are already too much talked about. Personally I find it a concept which isn
