About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

Quan Spa Mumbai: Review

Quan Spa Mumbai: Review

Quan Spa is one of Mumbai's most well known spas set on a sprawling 10,000 sq ft area inside JW Mariott Hotel Mumbai. I love my regular spa and facial regimen and this was the first time I visited Quan for a treatment. Here's a quick review ( Image source ) Where: JW Marioot Juhu Tara Road, Mumbai The Spa: Located inside one of Mumbai's finest hotels in Juhu, Quan Spa is one of the oldest luxury spas of Mumbai and has quite a name in the Mumbai Spa industry. They offer everything from massages, facials to Ayurvedic and water treatments. The spa has a very impressive lobby with a water wall installation by artist Sunil Padwal, immediately giving you a feeling of calm and tranquil. The spa speaks of luxury that is one of the important factors for me when choosing a spa{it gives me an assurance of product quality and hygiene}. Service: I am a complete spa junkie. This was my first time at the Quan Spa but I was not really impressed with their serv

Curated and Organised Address Style Trunk Show

Curated and Organised Address Style Trunk Show

Procrastinating lapsed deadlines, piling up the work and leaving this post unfinished since past one week while I've been dying to get it live soon as it was being difficult to contain the bubbling excitement to share Style Destino's newest stint. Here I am finally sharing it with you in words and pictures. Style Destino (aka me) curated and co-organised "Address Style - Trunk Show" last week featuring 26 finest Indian designers including Cue by Rohit Gandhi Rahul Khanna, Suket Dhir, Lacquer Embassy, House of Chic, Ritika Bharwani, Debashri Samanta, MA Earth Botanicals, Quirk Box and more, in the womenswear, menswear, accessories and beauty categories. This invitation only event was one of its kind that the city of Indore ever witnessed and it was a fantabulous experience. From getting the designers on board (biggies like Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna and many LFW and Wills Lifestyle designers), to selecting outfits with the designers for the show, getting

Right Now is the Right Moment

Right Now is the Right Moment

"Happiness is my intrinsic nature". But why do we still wait for something to happen to be happy? I'm here right now, so why wait for anything else? Stop waiting around for a holiday, for the perfect guy {or girl} to fall in love with you, for landing your dream job, for buying that handbag you've been longing for. Happiness is not dependent on anything, it's inside you. Happiness is you and there's so much beauty around already that you don't need to wait around for anything else to be happy. Right now is the right moment, make the most of it. Picture Story - Two NEW-S: new manicure @Fingertips and new necklace I picked from Hill Road street shopping, Mumbai - Taj Mahal I clicked from last summer visit to Agra. Finally I visited the Taj, everytime I'd converse someone on one of my offshore holidays I'd be embarrassed to confess I haven't yet visited Agra. No more. - Beautiful Narmada river I clicked from a recent trip to the amazing

Unchartered discovery - Bombay Paperie in Peplum

Unchartered discovery - Bombay Paperie in Peplum

Intriguing snippet of how the paper is made from cotton waste in Daulatabad   One afternoon while passing through the Dalal Street, after an official meeting, a store caught my attention and my curious self followed my instinct and opened the door of store that called itself Bombay Paperie. What I first discovered was beautiful colourful papers neatly stacked in piles and piles across a huge store and I immediately  hopped in to check it out. Besides, a cheery colourful store bang opposite the hustle and bustle of Bombay Stock Exchange definitely made it all the more interesting. A few minutes into the store and I was completely glued by the sheer beauty of the papers and more importantly its history. The paper at Paperie not any ordinary paper, its history dates back to the time of Emperor Jehangir. All the paper in the store is handmade and made 'not from trees' but cotton waste. The pictures displayed in the store giving

Here are some interesting things I completely fell in love with while browsing online, awesome designs - elegant, minimalist and vibrant!!! 1. Whoever would have though a glass canister can be so chic. Love this canister by Sarah Böttger  from touchof modern . Why dont we get beautiful kitchenware in India?  2. This  Edie Parker  clutch is a total treasure hunt, vegetarian luxury and a true delight,  3. This India inspired and Indian crafted Meenakari (enamel) ring by  Alice Cicolini  is elegant. I'm so having it made by my jeweler (would be just as exquisite and much cheaper),   4. Minimalist chic, found this great furniture online store and so fell in love with this  Linna  armchair from Yanko design,  5. A example of sustainable design, this Crate and Barrel wood sculpture  has been reclaimed and repurposed from abandoned bridges, camel carts and railway wagons in India (shipped outside) to create this interesting green sculptural artifact,  6. French Tuesdays Mumbai: 1st Anniversary Bash

French Tuesdays Mumbai: 1st Anniversary Bash

French Tuesdays - the worldwide rendezvous club celebrated its first anniversary party of Mumbai Chapter last night at one of the city's most hip venue Blue Frog. This member's exclusive club organises couture nightlife every month, once a month, on Tuesday (hence the name French Tuesdays) at the most happening venues worldwide from New York, LA, San Francisco, Mexico,  São Paulo to Paris, London to  Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and our very own Mumbai. A white Audi A7 welcomed us at the entrance and the event got my brownie points when the brimming photographer clicked us with FT's backdrop giving a celebrity-like treatment and I spotted lots of fashion people right at the entrance including Bandana Tewari, Narendra Kumar. Dressed appropriately to the theme of the night: "Chic & Elegant” with a touch of something ‘white’, the wonderful crowd emanated electrifying energy (yes even on a Tuesday!!!) and rocked the party as the hours progressed. The white the
