About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

Your Vegan Berlin Guide: The Best Vegan Places to Visit in Berlin

Vegan Berlin Guide - Best vegan places to eat and shop in Berlin
Berlin is a foodies heaven, especially if you are vegan. Its often ranked as one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world and for good reasons. From vegan restaurants and vegan cafes to vegan fashion stores and vegan supermarkets and even a vegetarian hotel - Berlin has it all! I've traveled to Berlin a few times and each time I travel, I fall in love with the city all over again. There's always so much energy in this city and everytime you visit, you'll discover new vegan restaurants and cafes to indulge into. There's no dearth of vegan places in Berlin.

Even restaurants that have meat products very well understand "Vegan" and make sure not to cross-contaminate for the vegans’ sake. So, drop off your extra bags at a suitcase storage facility in Berlin and head to one of these excellent eateries for a carefree meal and shop at amazing vegan stores thereafter.

Vegan Breakfast in Berlin
Vegan Berlin Guide - Hotel Almodovar Berlin Vegetarian Hotel

Hotel Almodovar
A luxury vegetarian hotel in Berin, Almodovar (with its focus on sustainability) is not just a great place to stay, but also serves amazing vegan brunch. Everything on their menu is meat and fish free and they have a wide variety of vegan options for their breakfast. You'll be spoilt for choice. I loved their croissants.

No Milk Today
No Milk Today gets its name from a song in the sixties by the same name. And they take their veganism seriously. They bake and cook everything themselves, so they know what goes in it and stick to organic and fair-trade items. Try their sandwiches, scrambled tofu, or smoothie bowl.

Plant Base
Located in a bookstore, Plant Base serves lunch and breakfast with vegan pastries, granola, tofu scramble, and bagels. You can get raw juices and fruits, kimchi, and vegan hot chocolate. They also have beer and wine. The casual ambiance is as refreshing as the food. They even have veganism workshops!

From pancakes and croissants, a hearty smoothie bowl, avocado toast and milkshakes, this vegan cafe dishes out delicious brunch options. Make sure to reach there with an appetite. Be there when the cafe opens if you don't want to wait in a queue.

Ataya Caffe
Whether you are starting or ending your day, Ataya has a wide variety of delicious choices. However, Attaya is well-known for its Sunday brunch. The menu is expansive and interesting - the Sunday brunch menu is neat and for breakfast you can try the vegan scrambled eggs. They have some really yummy African dishes on the menu -  strongly recommend their ravioli bowl and jollof plate if you're heading for brunch.  Ah, their coffee is pretty delicious too! Its located in Zelterstr.

Casual Meals
I stumbled upon this plant-based Asian restaurant accidentally. I couldn't find a cab on the street and was starving. Just then I spotted this vegan restaurant on my way, and was really happy as its become  one of my fav places in Berlin. They serve pan-Asian cuisine and add no colorings or non-sense to your food - healthy but wholesome and delicious. Their old-charm decor is comforting and they are really flexible and can accommodate any dietary needs - Jain, gluten-free, nut-free - you name it! Definitely try their mango lassi.

Hot Dog Soup
For the best vegan hotdogs in Berlin, check out Hot Dog Soup. They sell them dirty ballpark style or you can get a red-hot chili dog with vegan chili. Sample dogs with sauerkraut, Brazil dogs with chili sauce, and Hawaiian dogs with pineapple chili sauce, and many types of soup too.

Crunch Kantine
Grab your food from a buffet and it's all you can eat! Each day, the menu changes as to what is freshest in the local produce markets. There are over a dozen dishes on the buffet to choose from. They are open all day and 80% of the buffet is vegan. Even meat eaters will not notice the difference!

Feel Seoul Good
This vegan Korean restaurant has traditional Korean food served vegan style. They have “sushi” rolls, kimchi, Korean pancakes, bibimbap bowls, dumplings, and more. Try the Korean Dream soup or the spicy cucumber salad. Desserts include lucky pumpkin cake, fresh fruit, or crème brûlée.

Mana Restaurant
For pancake lovers, Mana in Schöneberg is a must-visit. Their blueberry pancakes are to die for and their lunch bowls super delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and healthy. Once you're done eating, don't forget to stop by at Loveco vegan fashion store nearby, its a short stroll from the restaurant.

Santa Cantina
Santa Cantina has vegan Mexican food that you cannot tell is vegan no matter how long you have been a vegan. Their black bean tacos and hibiscus tacos are amazing. The soy chorizo tacos are fantastic as well. They also have other vegan choices like nachos and fries with gravy.

Fine Dining
Kopps Fine Dining Restaurant in Berlin - Vegan Berlin Guide
Kopps
For a great vegan fine-dining experience in Berlin, Kopps is a great pick. The restaurant vibe is classy without being snooty, food is delicious (they have a seven-course vegan menu), and service very friendly and attentive. Its the perfect place for a romantic date or celebrate something special with your friends. Every plate served looks like a work of art. The menu changes frequently and you'll enjoy every bite. The chef was sweet enough to prepare a special Jain-friendly vegan meal especially for me - an item which was not on their menu and was made using seasonal ingredients. The desserts were out of the world too and service world-class (you don't often find such good service in Berlin)!

Lucky Leek
You will need your phone to take pics at Lucky Leek because their food is as beautiful as it is delicious. They even have a Michelin star! From sesame tartare and artichoke soup to Lucky Leek stroganoff, you will be delighted. The desserts of banana ice “cream” or plum crumble are fantastic too.

Cookies and Cream
Vegan diners with a Michelin star are hard to come by. But hey, its Berlin and of course you'll find one in town. One of the most popular fine-dining restaurants in Berlin happens to be vegan. You need to book a spot in advance, and make sure to turn up in your absolute to blend it. Their menu changes in accordance with the seasons and focuses on regional products. Every dish is innovative, a true culinary experience, and every dish is dancing with flavors. However, they don't easily cater to special diets like Jain.

Secret Garden
Secret Garden sounds so mysterious and it is with vegan sushi in all different styles and flavors. But they also serve other Japanese dishes that are vegan as well. Try the Little Island dumplings, Pink Panther summer rolls, or the Sinneswandel, which is red curry with shitake mushrooms, sprouts, tofu, and veggies with rice.

Fast Food
Lias Kitchen Vegan Burgers in Berlin - Vegan Berlin Travel GuideImage courtesy: Menulist

Nested in the cute neighbourhood of Prenzlauer, they serve lip smacking housemade burgers and salads packed with vegan cheese that they make in-house too.

Vincent Vegan
Vincent Vegan only serves plant-based foods and their fast food is fresh and delicious. Try their Cheesy One with “special cheese”, the Vincent Vegnuggz, or the Vish and Chips. The curry vurst is also completely vegan. For dessert, try a Veg Sundae or “milk” shake.

Vedang Plant Burger
At the Mall of Berlin, you can find the Vedang Plant Burger. They serve a variety of plant-based burgers including one called the Beyond Burger. They also have vegan fries, nuggets, and ice cream. They even have vegan mayo and a Mary Jane CBD burger with 5% CBD oil.

Fluffy, crispy, little pockets of heaven - momos from Momos Berlin are best vegan momos in town. They're made using organic ingredients and the place runs on green energy. What more can you ask for?

Vegan Desserts

Brammibal’s Donuts

Every donut at Brammibal's is vegan and even more delicious than a regular donut. With real bakers and fresh ingredients, what do you expect? You will fall in love with their donuts (and crave them more when you go back home). Every month they feature a Charity Donut where the profits go to the community. Try some of the classics or a new flavor like eggnog, cherry gingerbread, and baked apple.

Tigertoertchen
Vegan cupcakes? Check! Delicious flavors? Check. Great service? Yep, they have that too. In fact, Tigertoertchen has some of the best cupcakes in Berlin. They have two shops in the city so you can go to whichever is closest to you because they are both perfect. Don’t miss the chai-latte cupcake!

Vanille & Marille Ice Cream
How about some vegan ice cream to go with your cupcakes? Vanille & Marille has seven different shops in Berlin so you are sure to find one nearby. They feature 100 varieties of flavors and while only a few of them are vegan, the few they have are heavenly. Try the Lady Cointreau (orange with chocolate sorbet).

Café Vux
Café Vux is a fancy little eatery with a variety of awesome desserts as well as meals. The vegan ones are just as delicious as the non-vegan choices. The peanut butter cake, cinnamon chocolate cake, and the apricot vanilla cake are all amazing, and they also have tropical smoothies and tea with rice milk.

Vegan Shopping in Berlin

Loveco (multiple locations including Kruezberg and Schöneberg) and DearGoods are two of the best vegan fashion stores in Berlin that stocks fashion brands from all over the world. Clothing, shoes and bags without leather, silk, wool, fur or any other animal materials. Don't take them for dowdy stores, just because they're vegan. Their curation is very stylish. From beautiful tencel dresses and blouses from Armedangels and stylish denim from Nudie Jeans to chic dresses from Lana Organic, comfiest organic tshirts and awesome locally-produced jewelry both the stores will spoil you with amazing choices.

Once you're done with stocking up on vegan fashion, next stop should be to Avesu vegan shoe store. They have an amazing range of vegan heels, kicks, sandals, flats and everything else in between for men and women both.

Don't leave the city without paying a visit to vegan supermarket chain Veganz and plastic-free vegan store Der Sache Wegen. It was my first experience visiting a vegan supermarket and I went truly bonkers - like a kid in a candy shop. Stock up your favorite vegan chocolates (I love iChoc), vegan coffee mixes, cookies and everything your heart desires but you can't find easily.

Hope you enjoy your vegan Berlin experience. Don't forget to share your favorite vegan finds in Berlin.
