About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

Thank you for making 2012 a memorable year. Through this blog and your encouragement I could reinvent myself after being in a comfortable zone for too long. The blog has helped me take fashion risks, which I tremendously enjoy taking and get the creativity side out of me. Lots of travel and loads of shopping (alas.... not in Europe). One of those phases when time zooms right in front of you like 1000BHP Bugatti and you don't even realise what just happened. Fuzzy headed from the life changing chaos last few weeks (months?), grappling to find the right mo

5 Ways to Make This Weekend Interesting

It's Friday morning. And yes, we all have started planning for the weekend already!!! Lack of ideas on how to make this weekend fun and interesting should not be a reason for being a couch potato (how often we do that?). Scouting new places, discovering new things and trying out new stuff is always on my agenda. So here's my guide to  5 Ways to Make This Weekend Interesting. I'd love to know what you're upto this weekend - share your ideas (from around the world, your city's guide will be a fun read too) and tell us which of these did you try - Tweet and Spread the Word #TheWeekendGuide and #StyleDestino. 5 Ways to Make This Weekend Interesting 1. Get inspired and  Tickle your shopping bones   Le Mill Even if you have no intention of indulging in shopping, head to an interesting concept store (shopping malls are a passé ) or the equivalent in your town to lift up your mood (and maybe find something unexpected) and get inspired. Off-season Goa

Off-season Goa

Beach and landscaped garden at Leela Goa left to right - the famous St. Francis church in Old Goa and me at Baga beach Despite being to Goa so many times, this was my first visit to St. Francis church in old Goa and what a beautiful place it was to capture some pictures. Worn the same outfit here , shoes Charles and Keith, bag own design August is technically the off-peak season in Goa, that means less action and more rejuvenation. Since travelling from one part of Goa to the other can be daunting, we booked two hotels on a 4-nights vacation dividing time equally between the happening-North and the unwinding-South Goa. Review of Hilton Goa New things always get me excited, so when I heard about the  new cookie in town - Hilton Goa that opened on 15 August  2012 - I immediately picked Hilton for my stay in North Goa and oh my....... was so  hugely disappointed. A good hotel is key to a satisfying holiday and Hilton did not feel anything like a 5-star lux

A rainy weekend getaway: Aamby Valley City

A rainy weekend getaway: Aamby Valley City

Sauce Studded t -shirt (online from  asos ), Zara s kirt and b ag , Mango tube , Lipsy s hoes   Rains and clouds drive back home. Trying to capture the weekend at Lonavala particularly Aamby Valley is quite a challenge with a picture worthy sight at every corner. Pretty wooden chalets, a lovely combination of ducks and lakes, and lush green landscapes made Aamby Valley the perfect place to take a weekend break and the beautiful weather was a cherry topping. Just could not resist getting dressed up for a few shots, so here I was wearing my new buys (the tank and shoes, you've seen here ) right before heading out for a lunch (and yes I dared to step out in those shoes despite the risk it might pour any moment. How could I not?)

Goa - A Holiday With Myself

Goa - A Holiday With Myself

Sun and sand........Agenda? Unplug, unwind and relax......It had been ages since I did just this. A wonderful holiday in Goa that I had with the best company ever - 'myself'.     (1) and (2) Hitting the Arossim beach at 6.30 in the morning - did the world turn upside down? (3) and (4) A delicious breakfast after a long beach walk, swimming and yoga session. (5) and (6)  Enjoying a stroll in the hotel and later lazing in the room reading with the lagoon view  (7) and (8) A healthy sandwich that was my lunch Everyone kept asking me why am I going alone for a holiday with a look on their face 'is-she-crazy-to-go-to-a-holiday-alone-and-that-also-to-a-place-like-Goa'. The truth be told, it was planned with a few friends who ducked out later. So  I was left with two choices - cancel or go nevertheless. The idea of going to Goa on my own was quite enticing but then going alone? A number of small voices were squabbling in my head .......... and bam!!
