About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

A shoe love story?

A shoe love story?

Talking of shoes, the shoe obsession never seems to cease. Don't know what is it about shoes that keeps me obsessed by it (I am speaking on behalf of womanhood here, and those of you who are "unmoved by shoes", you really are the "blessed souls"). Just found this picture in my photoalbum, I bought these Kurt Geiger wedges online sometime back. When I spotted them online while browsing through KG website, I was totally moved by the colour of love and just couldn't resist buying. Yet to figure out how would I wear them to that would do justice to their beauty, but for now its mere presence is enough to keep me happy. What's your shoe story?

Desk to Dinner - One Skirt 3 Ways

Desk to Dinner - One Skirt 3 Ways

Style Challenge - Wearing One Skirt three ways: causal to work to party.  Wearing one piece of garment over and over again can only be masked for so long. But smart styling can definitely let you wear your favourite piece myriad times.  I bought this H&M skirt last season and while it was sitting in my wardrobe I was working on ways I could wear it. Much to my surprise (it seemed to be one of those pieces you cannot always wear out), I was happy with the way I discovered so many different ways and occasions I could wear this skirt for. Here's how I did it three times. Lace Skirt from H&M Look #1 - Casual Chic A lacy skirt for a casual look may sound like an oxymoron, but don't we all love a challenge? To put together a more casual chic look I wore the lace nude skirt with a very light grey slouchy cotton t-shirt tucked in. To make it playful and interesting, I added pop of bright colours through accessories.  I emphasized the waist with a

The Nails: Sparkle and Shine

The Nails: Sparkle and Shine

I am not one to experiment with my nails too much. Most of the times I go bared nails and even when I do put on some colour it is either a French manicure or classic red or fuchsia. To break this monotony I decided to try something completely different yet simple with my nails this weekend. So I headed out for a manicure (my poor hands badly needed some pampering after the torture I put them all through January and Feb). I couldn't be more happier with the results - I came out with butter soft hands and perfect glam nails - deep plum with gold glitter. After wearing this colour, I've received tonnes of glares and compliments on my nails, so I thought of breaking down the steps on how to get these sparkling nails yourself. Its easy peasy: 1. Apply the top coat on your nails. I used OPI Nail Strengthener. 2. Polish entire nail in OPI Honk if you Love (or any other dark plum colour), let the first coat dry and follow it up with the second coat. 3. Wait for th

When in Rome

Sandro  Dres s , Zara  Jacket , Love Moschino  Bag , Bershka  Boots, Enamel   Hermes   H   Bracelet Winter sun in Europe is a delight. Shot on the streets of Rome with lots of sun and humongous fun. Watching over Spanish Steps from the rooftop of the hotel, looking for a veg pizza joint all over Rome (with no success.. tsk tsk), sipping on the delicious Cappucino, clicking thousands of pictures and trying to find some time to shop among all these. And completely DELIGHTED at finding this dress from Parisian brand Sandro (finally!! I managed to find Sandro after years of coveting over it while somehow consoling myself with online browsing their amazing clothes and finally owning it in my wardrobe :)) in last 10 min of store closing at El Corte Ingles in Barcelona (must visit) before heading off to Rome. Now that I don't foresee any travel plans anytime soon, time to get myself organised with so much chaos from last few months. In other pertinent news: s

So the reaction was (as I'd anticipated) - stupefaction and total disbelief turning into pity (oh this poor girl does not learn from past experience and wants to prove she's always right) boiling down to amusement 'let her go and learn her lesson, we'll laugh when she'll freeze there stuck in hotel room and come back again with cold and fever'. What they missed was, not all of Europe oozes negative temperature in winter. There's sunshine and a winter time that you'll love. Ye

Thank you for making 2012 a memorable year. Through this blog and your encouragement I could reinvent myself after being in a comfortable zone for too long. The blog has helped me take fashion risks, which I tremendously enjoy taking and get the creativity side out of me. Lots of travel and loads of shopping (alas.... not in Europe). One of those phases when time zooms right in front of you like 1000BHP Bugatti and you don't even realise what just happened. Fuzzy headed from the life changing chaos last few weeks (months?), grappling to find the right mo
