About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

5 Easy Vegan Breakfast Ideas That Are Also Delicious & Healthy

Healthy Vegan Breakfast Ideas - Healthy Breakfast Recipes
When it comes to breakfast, we often get stuck in a rut and end up either eating cereals right out-of-the-box or something on the lines of peanut butter and sandwich that doesn't really qualify for healthy. Other times, we're confused what really to fix for breakfast that's healthy yet easy to prep.

Honestly, I've been there but with time I have honed by breakfast skills. After a lot of research, advice from experts and trials and errors I exactly know what to eat for breakfast that's vegan, healthy, yummy and gets ready in no time.

Breakfast is a great time of the day to pack in extra fiber, healthy fats, and protein that not only makes your gut happy but also keeps you satiated well until lunch. Scroll down for quick vegan breakfast ideas that are balanced, packed with nutrients and delicious too.

The firsts........

As soon as I wake up, I either have hot water with lemon, one glass of ash gourd juice or celery juice on an empty stomach. These are great for detox, help lose weight, healthy skin and good for digestion

Then starts my morning routine with a workout, followed by getting ready for the day and finally a healthy vegan breakfast before I start for work. I usually prefer to have fruits for breakfast. Our body uses a specific type of enzyme to digest fruits. When these enzymes do their job without other foods in the way, it processes fruit most efficiently. Thus, allowing maximum absorption of nutrients, fiber, and sugar. So one important tip is, when you're having fruits, don't mix it up with other foods as it can cause bloating and other stomach issues.

Here are my favorite breakfast meals:

Smoothies and smoothie bowls

HEALTHY VEGAN BREAKFAST IDEAS - Smoothie for BREAKFAST RECIPES
Smoothie is one of my favorite go-to-breakfasts not only for its simplicity but also because it offers everything that you seek in a breakfast - healthy, yummy, easy to make, easy to eat {or drink} and pleasant to look at for a beautiful start of the day. I prefer green smoothies.

My go-to blend is a frozen banana {or mango} for a creamy and sweet base, one seasonal fruit (anything from strawberries to peach) and strands of green leafy vegetable like spinach, kale, dill, or mint.

I usually also have soaked nuts in the morning with my smoothie, typically almonds and walnuts.

Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are a great make-ahead breakfast especially for days when you’re too busy to make something in the morning. You can make them at the night before and leave them in the fridge so in the morning you can grab and go!

My favorite mix is ½ cup rolled oats, ½ cup cashew milk, 1 teaspoon chia seeds, vanilla, and a pinch of pink salt. Mix it up, leave it in the fridge and then in the morning top with seasonal fruits and nuts and you have a healthy breakfast full of wholesome carbs, ample protein, and healthy fats. My favorite is the combo of oats, mangoes and almonds.
Healthy breakfast ideas - herbal teas for breakfast
I usually pair my overnight oats with a cup of herbal tea. I prefer organic loose leaf tea when I have time, however, when I am in rush my favorite are the organic herbal teas from Numi. They have amazing flavor and herb combos, are fair trade and also come in biodegradable tea bags. What's not to like?

Overnight Chia Pudding

For a high-protein breakfast - I recommend chia pudding because honestly, it tastes more like a decadent pudding and less like a healthy breakfast. Plus, they're super easy to make.

Just like overnight oats, you can get your chia pudding prepped the night before, leave it in the refrigerator overnight and you have a delicious creamy pudding ready for breakfast. For a basic recipe, all you need is chia seeds, any plant-based milk sweetened with dates (I use almond or coconut milk), vanilla extract, and topped with berries or bananas. If you are a chocolate lover, you can use cacao powder in the mix for a creamy chocolate pudding. One of my favorite vegan chia pudding recipes is this overnight chocolate chia pudding by Minimalist Baker (above).

Chia seeds are amongst the healthiest foods we have available today. These tiny black seeds, are a nutrition powerhouse that can be added to your smoothies or can be used to make chia pudding.  They're an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and also are known to aid in weight loss due to the high amount of protein and fiber found in them with very few calories.

I like to combine my chia pudding with an iced turmeric latte for a boost of immunity and healthy fats in the morning.

Avocado Toast

When I'm not in the mood for sweet breakfasts, an avocado toast is my favorite pick. Its a well-known fact that starting your day with healthy fats lays the right foundation. And what can be better than avocados to deliver you those healthy fats?

I toast gluten-free bread, top it with mashed avocado, sprinkle it with salt and black pepper and there I have my perfect and filling breakfast ready in minutes. When I feel like indulging, I also add a slice of vegan cheese, but that's only occasionally. The combo of vegan cheese and avocado tastes divine on a toast - I call it my double trouble breakfast sandwich!

I pair it with a herbal tea too!

Quinoa Upma
Sometimes you crave for a warm breakfast that's filling and packed with protein. For days like these, I like to have my quinoa made in 'upma' style - a traditional Indian breakfast. What I like the most is it requires minimum chopping and prep time. Its ready real quick and is yet incredibly healthy and delicious.

I've shared a step-by-step quinoa breakfast recipe here.
