About Me

My photo
Style Destino is my personal style space bout cruelty-free and vegetarian style. Fashion is not above someone's life and it is irresponsible when someone makes a fashion choice that involves taking a poor animal's life. I believe in style that has a conscience. We are in 21st century where technology has advanced immensely, there are myriad options available and any person with a desire can make things happen. So it is sheer selfishness and irresponsible behaviour when people make unethical fashion choices. Through StyleDestino I share everything cruelty-free and ethical in my style. I do not use any handbags, shoes or accessories made from leather (animal skin), the make-up I use is also vegetarian and cruelty free. Luxury and compassion can coexist stylishly and Style Destino is an attempt to prove just that. Vegan fashion is not about dowdy clothes, cheap bags, or tawdry shoes. I can just easily be vegan and trot in my Olsen heels, sporting a Stella McCartney luxurious vegan handbag while showing off my red lips painted with OCC lip tar!! I travel the world around and never find dearth of stylish, high quality vegetarian fashion.

3 AMAZING CAFES FOR VEGAN BREAKFAST IN DUBAI

3 AMAZING CAFES FOR VEGAN BREAKFAST IN DUBAI

Just a few years ago, the list of restaurants that served vegan food in Dubai would have been painfully short. Now, you are spoilt for choice and it’s hard to narrow down the options; thanks to the plant-based revolution in its full force. And with good reason. Taking off animal products from your diet is not only great for your health but also for the planet. I'm not saying it, its proven by science. Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual's carbon footprint from food by up to a whopping 73 percent.  When it comes to breakfasts we all love one that's packed with flavor, taste and nutrition. In the last few years, the obsession with wellness in Dubai has gone through the roof, and the city had an explosion of workout studios, juice bars, and turmeric everything. And nowhere is this more apparent as on the food front. The falafel-and-karak chai culture of Dubai has evolved. In its place, gr

6 dessert-makers that are sweetening up the festive season the vegan way | Vegan Dubai Dessert Edition

If you ask me, the absolute best gifts are edible (wink wink)! Given the situation, if you can’t meet your loved ones this Diwali, there’s no better way to celebrate the season than by sending over a box of vegan desserts. I barely know anyone who could say no to a box of cupcakes sprinkled and frosted to perfection or, better yet, freshly made donuts slathered with custard and cream. So, unless you have a bunch of diabetics on your holiday-gift lists, the fresh-made vegan treat idea is a good one. Even more better, if you are craving some sugary treats during this festive season, spare the milk and get your hands on some truly delicious vegan desserts. They're guilt-free, cruelty-free, and finger-licking good and you won't be short of choices at all. From the online pros and specialty bakers to the best dessert shops in town, here I have listed the 6 best vegan desserts in Dubai to gift this festive season.    il Donaccino Diwali Special Vegan Donut Box It's been a bit o

Your Complete Guide to Sustainable Fashion in Dubai

Your Complete Guide to Sustainable Fashion in Dubai

Last updated: 25th June 2020 ‘ Sustainable fashion ’ aren’t just buzzwords but its the need of the hour and the future of fashion. We are consciously damaging our planet and it turns out a lot of it has to do with the way we produce and consume things. How? In case you didn’t know already, fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world.  The good thing is, we are living in interesting times where technology and innovation have given us access to materials that we never thought possible. However, at the same time, consumerism and mass production is damaging our planet and exploiting the people involved in making the beautiful clothing and accessories we wear. It is time to give some thought to how our fashion choices affect the lives of so many people and our planet and start making a change. The exploitation of labor has been going on for decades, but after the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh, on 24th April 2013, the dark side of the fashion industry finally ca

BEST FAIRTRADE VEGAN CHOCOLATES IN DUBAI YOU WON'T FEEL GUILTY EATING

BEST FAIRTRADE VEGAN CHOCOLATES IN DUBAI YOU WON'T FEEL GUILTY EATING

The truth behind the chocolate is anything but sweet.  What if I told you that for every bite of that sweet delicious chocolate that you eat you have the hand of a child slave to thank? The cocoa farming has a long history of trafficking, child labor and slavery, and the practice still continues. Chocolate behemoths like Nestlé, Hershey's, Godiva and Mars are part of these inhumane activities because they directly or indirectly buy cocoa beans sourced in such conditions. Hundreds of thousands children are enslaved on cocoa farms, where they are trafficked, unable to leave, and forced to work with little to no pay. Irony is that almost all of these kids who work in cocoa farms have never even tasted chocolate. Forget chocolate, even getting one decent meal is a luxury for them and they work for over 100 hrs on an average every week on the farm.  The adult farmers who work in the cocoa farms are also not provided living wages and have to work for over 18 hours in gruesome conditions

Your Guide to Vegan Ramadan in Dubai

Your Guide to Vegan Ramadan in Dubai

At sundown on the first Sunday of the month, the Muslim holy period of Ramadan kicked off and will continue until the evening of 4th June. Well-known for the fasting period, Ramadan is one of the holiest months for Muslims that commemorates the first revelation of the Qur’an to Muhammad according to Islamic history. The term Ramadan literally translates to scorching in Arabic. The idea behind 'fasting' is to emphasize on self-sacrifice and use the experience of hunger to grow in empathy with the hungry. Observing Muslims abstain from all food and even water from the crack of dawn until sunset, every day of this month. Not just this, Muslim communities around the world work together to raise money for the poor, donate clothes and food, and hold iftar dinners for the less fortunate for the complete period of Ramadan. It is a month of giving, peace and introspection. Many Muslims across the world have started observing peace on their plate by shunning animal foods from their d
