Finding a gift for a man can be a tough task, the choices are limited and the usuals - box of chocolate, bouquet or a shopping spree do not please him. I am not an expert, but over many SOS gifting ideas for friends, having to help my brothers and guy friends with their shopping, I'd like to believe I've acquired some knowledge (or atleast a broad idea) about what would make as a good gift for men. So for this Valentine's I've made the task easier - smart gift ideas for Valentine's Day to suit all budgets. I've squared down the gifting options into few categories: fashion, gadgets, watches and grooming (includes pampering). I'd update this list time and again to ensure the list is fresh out from the oven. Tink! Source There's absolutely nothing like the classic combination of black and white. It works magic and looks really pleasing. It feels so nice when you see things as either black or white, with no grey areas. As a person I've always believed in not having grey areas. Grey areas usually create confusions and make your life complicated. Shouldn't life be simple? It's so interesting how sometimes one thing leads to another and how the same thing can be interpreted in so many ways. Take for example black, white and grey. I just googled the term black, white and grey areas and found two very different arguments. One was close to what I said about having things as black and white to keep things simple. While other interpretation of black, white and grey was - one should not be staunch about their beliefs and not categorise everything as black and white. There is a need for some space for grey areas to explore life and leave room for change and be rece
A stroke of midnight and the year changes from 2011 to 2012. Isn't that amazing? There's a little bit of anxiety and loads of excitement of what the year would have in-store. 2011 had been special year as I laid the foundation of this blog sharing my passion of fashion. It had also been about travelling and lots of great memories. Here's a snapshot of the year 2011. New year means new beginnings. It means to let go off the past and look forward for new beginnings, living every day to the fullest. Our problem is we think and fret too much over what happened in the past; and worry and plan too much for the future and forget what we have today. Tomorrow is gone and there's nothing we can do about it and what will happen tomorrow we don't know. So its important to focus on today and make the best of it. Its never too late to start over. So why not start it from today. Wish you a wonderful 2012!!!!

You can either complaint about the problems or can look at the brighter side of it. Most of the times we create problems and then spend time resolving or sulking about them. Everything has its pros and cons, and its up to us whether we invite negativity or make things simpler, concentrate on the pros and enjoy the little time we have here. Winter has always been my favourite season and I would always await with moistened lipped anticipation to put the smart coats, chic scarves, high boots and stylish jackets at work. So when I initially moved to Mumbai, the thing that I loathed most about the city was it didn't have the feel of winter and the disappointment of my favourite pieces of clothing languishing in the back of my closet haunted me. Now I had two choices - nag about the weather or embrace it. Honestly the later is a more smarter choice. So here am I enjoying Mumbai winter in a bright yellow skirt, which would have been, perhaps, an unthinkable choice in any other pa
Spotted these pictures and absolutely loved the styling. What intrigued me was the mix of sporty with chic and high fashion. Styling can be so much fun, there is no limit to how much you can try. Pushing the boundaries, thinking out of the box and trying new makes it fun and interesting and certainly can work wonders. Who would have thought that a girl can look so chic dressed for watching a baseball game. These pictures of Olga Maliouck by David Burton are a real inspiration. " Embracing the change, trying new and pushing your boundaries is what makes you successful and keeps your life interesting and fun ." - S.J. The 3 year ago 'me' would have resented even the thought of wearing floral and flowy-feminine silhouettes and here I am clad in exactly that, all smug and happy. Okay I might be looking like a bit of a brat here, but I personally don't like the ubiquitous 'monogrammed' bags, which more often than not are the preference of the hoity-toity conceited women who carry it with a smug look on their faces. Anything monogrammed just spells to me like - 'look here I am loaded'. Yet I got this one. Here's the 'why' to put that sentiment and the purchase into perspective...... The hard-core vegetarian that I am, for me the choice of non-leather bags in the luxury segment is very very limited. In fact, in the world of fashion, non-leather and luxury are really oxymorons. So when I was a tad-bi
Had a quiet week on the blog, was off to Hong Kong for some client meetings. Picked some really value for money stuff from the wonderful Granville Road for the little time I had to explore the town. What am I wearing? Ahhh!!! This awesome black shoulder detailed jacket and the leopard print clutch (so I so love it) are part of my treasure hunt in Hong Kong!!!! And I am so loving it. It's amazing to see how my style has evolved over the years. Once upon a time....... I was a girl who sticked to black, and greys and blues that were nearly black, for every occasion and completely alienated bright colours from my wardrobe. And here I am in purple pants and red shoes. Back to the present. The excitement of getting into the new clothes completely made me oblivious to the winter heat of Mumbai (Mumbai does not understand one word and that is WINTER, the only thing I don't like about Mumbai is it does not have my favourite season) and I wore this black jacket on a full
