Thank you for making 2012 a memorable year. Through this blog and your encouragement I could reinvent myself after being in a comfortable zone for too long. The blog has helped me take fashion risks, which I tremendously enjoy taking and get the creativity side out of me. Lots of travel and loads of shopping (alas.... not in Europe). One of those phases when time zooms right in front of you like 1000BHP Bugatti and you don't even realise what just happened. Fuzzy headed from the life changing chaos last few weeks (months?), grappling to find the right mo

London. New York. Berlin. San Paulo. And now in Mumbai. No I am not talking about a designer label or high street brand entry in India - but ' InfluencerCon '. It's Friday morning. And yes, we all have started planning for the weekend already!!! Lack of ideas on how to make this weekend fun and interesting should not be a reason for being a couch potato (how often we do that?). Scouting new places, discovering new things and trying out new stuff is always on my agenda. So here's my guide to 5 Ways to Make This Weekend Interesting. I'd love to know what you're upto this weekend - share your ideas (from around the world, your city's guide will be a fun read too) and tell us which of these did you try - Tweet and Spread the Word #TheWeekendGuide and #StyleDestino. 5 Ways to Make This Weekend Interesting 1. If you're in
Here are some interesting things I completely fell in love with while browsing online, awesome designs - elegant, minimalist and vibrant!!! 1. Whoever would have though a glass canister can be so chic. Love this canister by Sarah Böttger from touchof modern . Why dont we get beautiful kitchenware in India? 2. This Edie Parker clutch is a total treasure hunt, vegetarian luxury and a true delight, 3. This India inspired and Indian crafted Meenakari (enamel) ring by Alice Cicolini is elegant. I'm so having it made by my jeweler (would be just as exquisite and much cheaper), 4. Minimalist chic, found this great furniture online store and so fell in love with this Linna armchair from Yanko design, 5. A example of sustainable design, this Crate and Barrel wood sculpture has been reclaimed and repurposed from abandoned bridges, camel carts and railway wagons in India (shipped outside) to create this interesting green sculptural artifact, 6. Interestingly
Beach and landscaped garden at Leela Goa left to right - the famous St. Francis church in Old Goa and me at Baga beach Despite being to Goa so many times, this was my first visit to St. Francis church in old Goa and what a beautiful place it was to capture some pictures. Worn the same outfit here , shoes Charles and Keith, bag own design August is technically the off-peak season in Goa, that means less action and more rejuvenation. Since travelling from one part of Goa to the other can be daunting, we booked two hotels on a 4-nights vacation dividing time equally between the happening-North and the unwinding-South Goa. Review of Hilton Goa New things always get me excited, so when I heard about the new cookie in town - Hilton Goa that opened on 15 August 2012 - I immediately picked Hilton for my stay in North Goa and oh my....... was so hugely disappointed. A good hotel is key to a satisfying holiday and Hilton did not feel anything like a 5-star lux
Mamma mia, ever since I spotted this DVF Tonda clutch (yes yes its a vegetarian bag - no leather, no animal skin), I'd been fixated to have it in my closet. Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) unfortunately does not have a store in India yet, and Kitsch that stocks DVF in Mumbai did not have this green tweed-ish Tonda. I've never ordered a luxury bag online before (spending that much on a bag that you haven't seen in person,, hmmm .. not sure). But what the heck, I don't know when will I be travelling, so one fine day I finally ordered it from matchesfashion.com and the moistened lips anticipation ended when the postman finally arrived with the parcel. I hurriedly opened the package and jumped, and jumped and jumped some more (lol, not literally). I was delighted at the sight of the bag and incredibly excited for adding a little colour into my bags, most I have are black, black, black and occasional blues. The simplistic rectangular shape of Tonda opens with the
If the ubiquity of peplum might got you thinking that it is old season, you ought to think again. The late forties and fifties favourite peplum that the mighty Christian Dior introduced to the fashion world took this summer by rage with Peplum here, Peplum there and peplum everywhere. But they're not over yet, its here to stay for even Autumn and Winter. In fact Peplum has taken an upgrade for F/W 2012 with an added peplum inspired hem lines on skirts and dresses, as seen on the runways of Stella McCartney and Ostwald Helgasom. Peplum pencil skirts are also the upcoming season's favourite. Stella McCartney FW 2012 (l & r) and Burberry Prorsum SW 2012 (c) Honestly my first reaction to the Peplum trend was dismissive with the bouts of feminity emanating from this style almost nauseating me. However, I thought of giving it another chance and I spotted a grown-up, stately elegance with a twist of cool on peplums with its structured shape almost like architecture, and i
