" Embracing the change, trying new and pushing your boundaries is what makes you successful and keeps your life interesting and fun ." - S.J. The 3 year ago 'me' would have resented even the thought of wearing floral and flowy-feminine silhouettes and here I am clad in exactly that, all smug and happy. Okay I might be looking like a bit of a brat here, but I personally don't like the ubiquitous 'monogrammed' bags, which more often than not are the preference of the hoity-toity conceited women who carry it with a smug look on their faces. Anything monogrammed just spells to me like - 'look here I am loaded'. Yet I got this one. Here's the 'why' to put that sentiment and the purchase into perspective...... The hard-core vegetarian that I am, for me the choice of non-leather bags in the luxury segment is very very limited. In fact, in the world of fashion, non-leather and luxury are really oxymorons. So when I was a tad-bi
Had a quiet week on the blog, was off to Hong Kong for some client meetings. Picked some really value for money stuff from the wonderful Granville Road for the little time I had to explore the town. What am I wearing? Ahhh!!! This awesome black shoulder detailed jacket and the leopard print clutch (so I so love it) are part of my treasure hunt in Hong Kong!!!! And I am so loving it. It's amazing to see how my style has evolved over the years. Once upon a time....... I was a girl who sticked to black, and greys and blues that were nearly black, for every occasion and completely alienated bright colours from my wardrobe. And here I am in purple pants and red shoes. Back to the present. The excitement of getting into the new clothes completely made me oblivious to the winter heat of Mumbai (Mumbai does not understand one word and that is WINTER, the only thing I don't like about Mumbai is it does not have my favourite season) and I wore this black jacket on a full
Was all ready and excited because I was about to delve into cupcakes from Cakeitaway - a treat to myself after a long suppression from anything sweet. Always a delightful way to start your day!!!! Forever 21 Jeans ; Rossana Blouse c/o Missguided ; Barrats Heels ; Charles and Keith Bag ; Rare cropped Jacket Getting a taste of good cupcakes is not hard with the recent cupcake frenzy that is catching up in Mumbai, but for a vegetarian like me it becomes almost impossible to find a decent vegetarian place for good ones. With a big sweet tooth that I have, the moment I read the words 'vegetarian' and 'cake' in one line, I go completely dizzy until I have had a taste of it. So here I was reading about Cakeitaway cupcakes, a recent startup by 25 years old Natali, on BPB and the cupcakes jumped out at me calling 'SJ, SJ, look at me, I am a delicious piece of petite cake topped with frothy swirls of icing and demure garnishes of berries. I am
The classic black and white houndtooth checks have been presented in tasteful overdose in Salvatore Ferragamo's A/W 2011-12 collection. And I am so in love with them. Salvatore Ferragamo A/W 2011-2012 Runway (r) Ashley Greene and Freida Pinto at Salvatore Ferragamo Resort Collection at NY And it wasn't just Salvatore sporting them, Stella McCartney also had the houndstooth check in her Resort 2012 collection. Stella McCartney Resort 2012 Collection I want them, I want them, I want them!!!! There is a reason for me to cheer. When the world economies are in doldrums, the industry that serves the food on my platter (finance) is not looking in a great shape and the cash crunch is affecting the purchasing ability of consumers (in this case I am the affected party), it becomes hard even for a fashion aficionado, like me, to even think about 'investing' in the most worthwhile of investments like Salvatore Ferragamo and Stella McCartney. Simply because th

Aer in Four Seasons was the first stop and the best among all. Breathtaking view from the 30th floor, great music and wonderful food and drinks. It is the best place to chill out in town. No cover charges on Sundays. The worst was Esco Bar in Bandra. The place was hip, music was good, menus come in i-Pads but Esco Bar's service was quite bad (rude bar tender). Really need to up their service standards. Ev
I finally found a way to wear this white dress., and its perfect for this in-between weather. Just wish had some bracelets, but was travelling for work, and didn't pack much accessories. I am loving it even without it!!!! The weather was perfect for wearing white. Although I got this white dress in an impulse, I wasn't sure I'll be able to wear it on its on. It's been a while that it had been hanging in my closet but today I suddenly knew how to wear it. This 70s grungy denim jacket was the perfect piece to team with this beautiful white colour. It's a great layering piece without stealing away the whiteness from the look. Zara Dress , Warehouse Denim Jacket , River Island Bag , Mango Belt , Nine West Shoes Isn't this dress gorgeous? I looked a little over-dressed for this place, but I don't care. I was happy over my lunch obsessed by it. My entire weekend was spent at a conference and was completely whacked off by the end of
The coloured treasure
On my shopping spree to London last year, I saw these beautiful pair of shoes and completely fell in love with them. The blast of colours make me happy every time I see them. I have not been much of a colour person, so haven't worn them yet. But I am on a mission to racksack everything unworn and lost in my closet and make sure I wear every piece of outfit I bought. Will soon find an outfit and an occassion to wear these shoes!!!! Do you like colours? xoxo Photo Credit: Ria
