Aer in Four Seasons was the first stop and the best among all. Breathtaking view from the 30th floor, great music and wonderful food and drinks. It is the best place to chill out in town. No cover charges on Sundays. The worst was Esco Bar in Bandra. The place was hip, music was good, menus come in i-Pads but Esco Bar's service was quite bad (rude bar tender). Really need to up their service standards. Ev
I finally found a way to wear this white dress., and its perfect for this in-between weather. Just wish had some bracelets, but was travelling for work, and didn't pack much accessories. I am loving it even without it!!!! The weather was perfect for wearing white. Although I got this white dress in an impulse, I wasn't sure I'll be able to wear it on its on. It's been a while that it had been hanging in my closet but today I suddenly knew how to wear it. This 70s grungy denim jacket was the perfect piece to team with this beautiful white colour. It's a great layering piece without stealing away the whiteness from the look. Zara Dress , Warehouse Denim Jacket , River Island Bag , Mango Belt , Nine West Shoes Isn't this dress gorgeous? I looked a little over-dressed for this place, but I don't care. I was happy over my lunch obsessed by it. My entire weekend was spent at a conference and was completely whacked off by the end of
The coloured treasure
On my shopping spree to London last year, I saw these beautiful pair of shoes and completely fell in love with them. The blast of colours make me happy every time I see them. I have not been much of a colour person, so haven't worn them yet. But I am on a mission to racksack everything unworn and lost in my closet and make sure I wear every piece of outfit I bought. Will soon find an outfit and an occassion to wear these shoes!!!! Do you like colours? xoxo Photo Credit: Ria
Just got back from couturier Tarun Tahiliani's bridal show at Aamby Valley City Bridal Week 2011 hosted at Sahara Star Mumbai. The bridal week concluded with the grande finale Tarun Tahiliani's Bridal Runway Collection. The show was late by almost an hour, so waited at the beautifully decorated foyer with white theme accented with blue light sipping a ' virgin ' Screw Driver. Being Tahiliani's show, you had to have the socialites and biggies of Mumbai in attendance. A good one hour among these ladies and I am completely stupified that despite all the means in the world, how can women dress up so bad? Among so many ladies, it was hard to spot even a single who you would like to check out - if you know what I mean. Mumbai women badly need to learn a little about style. I couldn't resist BBMing my friend - 'money and designer labels does not guarantee style' and she couldn't agree more!!!!! Although I am no expert on fashion, but even with someone
I don't think autumn has arrived yet in Mumbai, but I was in an autumn mood. Mumbai summer sucks!!!! As much as I love dressing up for summers, I kind of miss the Autumn feel in Mumbai. The transition from summer to winter is my most anticipated time of the year. I dug out this tartan shirt from my closet and a wonderful knit bag I haven't worn since ages. This tartan checked shirt made its way into my wardrobe a few years ago during a shopping trip to London. It's a delish piece, but didn't get a chance to wear it more than once. Paired it with my black jeans, which I cuffed till the ankle (can't really make out the fold in the picture) and added my platform heels. And where did I go? My Sunday started with an architecture exhibition at Balwant Seth School of Architecture in Juhu. The only time I ever visited an art-related exhibition was in my university, dragged by a friend. I was the most observant person with that look on the face 'hey I am a ser
Shopping was planned on Saturday, but after a late Friday night was just lazing around all day. The thought of being home all day on a Saturday spooked me so I thought of going out someplace that won't break the hibernate mode I put myself on. I thought of pampering myself and immediately called Jean Claude Biguine for an appointment, as it was the easiest being the closest. And hey what can be a better place for a good manicure than a French salon? Was happy to be immediately given a slot. How did it go? The short review - it was alright but I did come home with happy feet and hand. For an eloborate version of my experience, read on. The pristine white interiors and courteous staff immediately gives a feeling that you're in a plush salon. Unlike some of the other places, where the staff think of themselves as mighty and high (why do they do this is beyond my understanding as I don't think scaring away the clients is their intention), JCB had a friendly staff who
The 2012 Spring Summer collections are hitting the runways of Milan, London, New York et al. As much as I love dressing up for winters (which is hard considering Mumbai weather), I had been pretty intrigued to see what the spring summer 2012 would have in-store. Was tied up with numerous things since past few days, but finally got a chance to rummage through the videos and images of SS2012 collection and I like what I see. Spring summer 2012 was brimming with clean silhouette and all things colours with a domination of pastels and candy colours. Colour clashing continues but its more muted, feminine and demure with pastels reigning the collection. Florals in soft colours, geometric and african prints. Infusion of black was also seen but these are the new blacks more contemporary and refined. I have put together some of my favorite photos and videos of the entire Spring Summer 2012 runway collections - Acne, Ralph Lauren, Band of Outsiders, Jill Stuart, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, P
Not a slave to the skinny
Who says you got to be skin thin to be sexy and stylish? Big Sean's Marvin & Chardonnay (Ft. Kanye West) brings back the curves and proves my point. The bright colours against the elements of black topped with those stylish and sexy curvy women just took my breath away. Although I am one of those persons who likes to follow a disciplined workout routine and watch what I eat, but I am no more obsessed with being skinny and I don't envy those super thin models. This glam world wants to make us believe that we can't be beautiful, stylish and sexy unless we're like those skinny women featured on pages of glossy magazines (did I forget to mention the words airbrushed and famished?); and the ubiquity of this 'seemingly perfect image' has gotten so deep down in our heads that we keep on promising ourselves to unleash our style and experiment only after we loose those extra kilos, and stay caged in that whim with eventually losing ourselves to dowdy clothes an
